The only good thing about this hotel is the location which is right next to the train station (which also makes it noisy) Had a smoking room (I had asked for non smoking). Terrible smell. Staff was so so. Only one receptionist was really nice. First time in Japan I couldn't say excellent service
Living in Kyoto can be a pain when visiting Osaka for a late night out, trains back to Kyoto stop running around 11pm and don't resume until 5am so unless you want to cut short your evening the only alternatives are to wait at the station for four hours (not fun) or find suitable accommodation in Osaka. That isn't much of a problem weeknights where reasonably priced rooms can be found, but as the weekend is the only real time when Japanese workers can let their hair down they can be expensive and scarce. I managed to secure a semi double room at the Ave Hotel which is about a 40 metre walk from the Park Exit of Tennouiji Station. Perfect access to the subway and JR lines. The staff have excellent english and check in is a breeze as its predominantly a business hotel with the top few floors being men only. The room was clean well equipped and comfortable all that you need to sleep off the previous nights food and drinks, and with its easy access to the subway anywhere in Osaka is easily accessible.…
