Had an enjoyable stay here. Enjoyed the bakery/cafe a but too much :) which had a wide range of delicious treats. The rooms were well designed and cozy, service was excellent and concierge good at recommending and booking fine restaurants in gion where mainly locals enjoy. Location wise it's not too far from Gion however a bit of a distance...

I have to admit that I am more than slightly baffled by some of the negative reviews of this hotel. Our experience was great from beginning to end when we stayed here for 2 nights in May 2014. We arrived running late from Tokyo as we had dinner reservations in Kyoto, front desk said they would take care of communicating...

Loved our stay. This was our wedding anniversary trip, and hotel staff made us feel very special. We got a free upgrade to a larger room, which was lovely and quiet. They attended to all our needs. We ended up having our celebration dinner at the hotel's Touzan restaurant, which was wonderful too. One word of caution for business travellers...

I did stay 3 nights on a vacation trip. I liked very the location and the general condition of the hotel. The room was very good and quiet. Bathroom configuration was a little bit odd, but that was not an issue for me. Concierge service was quite nice as well as reception. I had issues ate the Japanese restaurant as...

We stayed 4 nights. This is a very comfortable hotel with a beautiful lobby and nice rooms. The location was also very good - we could walk to some attractions and took public transportation to others. The only problem I had with this hotel was their coffee service or the absence thereof. There was no coffeemaker in the room, so...

I stayed there 2 nights the staff was very nice helpful and cooperative the room was nice well equipped but was not as quiet as you would expect of a hotel of this standard breakfast was good ,might be that my room on the second floor was the problem I would give a second chance.

We stayed for two nights using points. Room had a view of a roof. Found the location to be great with a bus stop just out the front door. Bought an all day bus pass for only 500 JPY at the front desk so was able to get to all the sites we wanted to see. Room was clean but...

We stayed here in April during Sakura Season. Originally we wanted to stay at a traditional Ryokan, but left the booking too late for one of the highly recommended ones. We decided we would then opt for modern Japanese luxury instead and were not disappointed by the Hyatt Regency Kyoto. The warmth of the interior and the friendliness of the...

We stayed in a Regency suite, please note that this review is only based on this room. All suites are of the 5th floor. Top floor with interesting views on the city. The rest of the members of our group stayed in rooms in B1 (-1) floor, nice functional rooms but boring and with no view. Our room was perfect...

Great hotel for exploring beautiful a Kyoto - spotless service and room. For sites, don't miss Nara, Golden pavilion, Fushimi Inari, Nanzen-ji and Kiyomizu temple (the latter two by bike - follow the river down from Nanzen to Gion - great route).
