Lovely service. Very smooth easy check in. Efficient and pleasant concierge. Upgraded our room to a beautiful junior suite with incredible bath with soaking tub overlooking private balcony. Rooms are comfortable, well appointed and overall a very enjoyable experience.

Perhaps I should have done a little more research into places to stay in Kyoto. We tend to like to do our own thing - we didn't want to be bound by curfews and politeness so opted for a hotel rather than a ryokan. I booked a deluxe room - my experience with Japanese hotel rooms has taught me to... More

The outside may not look as much as you will experience inside. Very nice design, friendly staff and very good location. the temple next door is not on the top list of attractions but very interesting.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto back in 2010 and 2009 and loved it. Just went back and had a completely different experience! Extremely rude woman manager at the front desk , concierge miserable with a frown! Doormen very nice though. Two things put us over the edge- rooms were awful and run down. The rooms they wanted to... More

Great bolthole for our short visit to Kyoto (3 nights). Rooms were beautiful - with appropriate Japanese minimalism and a traditional deep bath in the bathroom. Staff were very helpful, recommending and booking restaurants for us. No pool though which was slightly disappointing. Short taxis ride from most places we wanted to go.

Although a somewhat large hotel, the experience felt intimate to both my husband and me. We requested and received a garden room which we couldn't recommend enough. We loved all of our experiences with the staff, with each person being genuinely friendly. The lobby and furnishings are beautiful, and the food/service in all the restaurants excellent and well-priced for being... More

We had a very pleasant stay at the Hyatt Regency, Kyoto. The hotel is situated a little out of the centre of Kyoto but is a short taxi ride from the train station (costs less than 1,000 yen) or a short walk from the subway station. We spent 3 nights in the hotel as part of our holiday to Japan.... More

Pros: nice rooms a little more spacious than usually in Japan, great service, beautiful property and restaurants. Good breakfast at 2.000 continental buffet or 3.000 complete buffet (kids up to 6 years are free) . We stayed with our 3 and 6 years old and we were given a wheel chair accessible room that is a bit more spacious. Cons:... More

We spent 4 days/3 nights in Kyoto and were very happy with our hotel choice. It was just outside the city center but close enough to everything that you could walk or take a 10 min taxi. The service was wonderful. The employees were very conscientious and always around trying to help. If we ever go back to Kyoto we... More

Hyatt Regency hotels are great, and this one exceeds my normal expectations. The hotel staff and concierge are very helpful and speak English very fluently. There is an Italian restaurant above the concierge desk that is simply fantastic! I highly recommend the pizza and breadsticks! Hyatt hotels are usually on the higher end of the price scale, so try to... More
