We spent 5 nights at this hotel in July for summer vacation and I don't have any thing to complain since we were quite satisfied with most of the areas including the service, the quality of the food and cocktails, the location and etc. Especially, Mr. Hiroaki Omae at Touzan bar is a great bartender! It was quite impressive and thanks to him, we had a great time at that bar having a good atmosphere and the interior design.
A warm, modern and recently refurbished (question mark - as if this is not the case it is in remarkably perfect condition) hotel with superb service (although the latter is, of course, not unusual in Japan). Location: located opposite of Kyoto’s National Museum the Hyatt lies between Kyoto’s train station and town centre.
Located right across from a bus stop that connects to Kyoto Station in about 10-15 minutes, the Hyatt Regency Kyoto is in a wonderful serene and quiet location. If you value hearing bird song in the mornig as you open your window to overlook the Sanjusangendo or other temples, or the neo-classic architecture of the Kyoto National Museum, I highly recommend this hotel. There are a lot of temples in walking distance - I strongly recommend Tofukuji with its covered wooden bridges that go over a valley. The food quality is amazing and recommend the Eggs Benedict off the breakfast menu. We also ate at the Japanese restaurant "Touzan" and had post-dinner cocktails at its same name bar next door. For design aficionados, the hotel's interior design by Super Potato (who do a lot of Hyatt work and designed the Muji Hotel in Shanghai) is really interesting. …
I was deeply impressed by the hotel and staff. Even before our arrival the staff reached out to us to ensure we had everything we needed for our upcoming stay, answered questions and provided us recommendations for our vacation before our arrival. Being an English only speaker this made staying in Kyoto much easier and our family felt very welcomed. The level of class and details in our room and at the hotel were fantastic. We would make this hotel our number one choice of stay during our next visit to Kyoto. I also want to mention that we went to the Four Season's Hotel in Kyoto and even though the Four Season's is much fancier, the Hyatt Regency Kyoto was hands down a friendlier and more welcoming place to stay, especially for families.
Our stay at the Hyatt was absolutely amazing. Every aspect of our stay at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto was second to none. The staff are very professional and extend the Kyoto hospitality. The room has a Zen feel and makes you very relaxed. The dining experience at both restaurants was outstanding. The breakfast bar overlooks the inner courtyard which features a rock garden like Ryoanji. It is in close proximity to the station as well as key tourist sites in Kyoto. The Concierge is very helpful in helping plan dining experiences around the city. We look forward to our stay at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto again.
Much better than anticipated. From start to finish, the staff went out of their way to accommodate. The Italian restaurant in particular was spectacular; a proper Italian experience with the best gnocchi I have had in a long time. Chef even made a custom Gorgonzola sauce for me. Would love to see the addition of EV charging and maybe some decaf coffee options in the rooms in the future. Bakery, pastries, and spa were all top notch. Will definitely be back.
This place is super comfortable, staff greet you everywhere, and the food is *amazing*. The food is a tad expensive for Kyoto but worth every penny (yen?). Only negative thing is that staff called the room phone when I had the "do not disturb" light turned on, specifically to tell me that the "do not disturb" light is on and that they can't come replace our towels. Why do you think I turned it on? Don't disturb me. Drop the towels by the door or just come back later...
We just spent 2 weeks at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto and it was fantastic. As a Marriott Titanium member who got “Bonvoy’d” one too many times, I decided to switch to Hyatt for 2022 and I have not been disappointed. The staff of the hotel and the 3 attached restaurants (Cafe 33, Trattoria Sette and Touzan) have been outstanding. I was greeted by name regularly when passing hotel staff in the halls. The modern and well appointed room were kept immaculately clean. What else can I say? Even the parking lot was clean. Some other reviewers have complained about the hotel’s proximity to Kyoto attractions. I don’t know what these people are talking about. The hotel is well situated and has good access on foot, by bus and even subway to the rest of the city. It is always attended by taxis and they have bikes for guest use as well. I’m very glad I chose this hotel for my trip to Kyoto and I know where I’ll be staying next time. To all the hotel staff who made our stay a memorable one: 優しくしてて、毎日ワーキングスペースまで備えてくれて誠にありがとうございました!…
We stayed in Kyoto Hyatt for five days. We received very good service from the hotel staff that was among the best, even when compared with top Ryokan. We lost two pieces of clothing during our stay and hotel mailed back to us when they were found. The room was clean and bed was comfortable 京都ハイアットに5日間滞在しました。ホテルスタッフからとても良いサービスを受けました。 滞在中に2点の衣類を紛失し、見つかったときにホテルから郵送されました。 部屋はきれいだったし、ベッドは快適だった
We stayed at Hyatt Regency Kyoto because it was within walking distance to catch up with friends plus the subway for a trip to Kibune. We stayed 2 nights and although we didn’t eat in, we loved the room over the garden with windows open, the bed so comfy and the bath so nice after a day’s walkabout.
