Good price, nice breakfast, great staff. Very good location, walking distance from train station. I took a bike directlly from the hostel, very good option. I booked the traditional room and It was very clean and comfortable. Highly recomended choice, one of the best hostels I have stayed id.

This hostel is a nice change of pace from the usual 'bunk bed' scenario. The rooms are basically open plan but it's cool, the pictures are basically as is... The guys at the front desk are really easy going and good to help out! The cooking facilities aren't much so if you're planning on cooking your own food it'll be... More

+ the staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is great, the room was big (we had a private one), nice athmosphere and great café downstairs, very good value for money - the room, kitchen and bathrooms were not always very clean, the walls are very thin, which may be annoying when people are noisy

Good location and great friendly staff. Very good value at about 3500 yen per night for a private room. Walkable from kyoto station and centrally located to many of the cultural attractions. Check-in is located at a central cafe and bar. Houses are in a very quaint and quite side street.

we ate here twice... curries and simple fare... great service. we popped in out of the rain and our coats were hung to dry... hot saki and supporo...very friendly, simple and rustic. The woner has been building the business for years and happy to chat... one night they run out of our favorite curry but augmented our meal with charm...

We really enjoyed 4 nights in Kyoto - so much to see! Gojo guesthouse gave us a fantastic welcome and provided map, bus map, free drink voucher. You could buy bus ticket from them, and borrow umbrellas which was very helpful! The reason for 3 star rating is because the room was very basic - our door didn't shut very... More

The Gojo guest was a very enjoyable and friendly experience. My partner and myself stayed in the Japanese style twin room. The room was the largest we have stayed in between other Guest Houses and Ryokans. The room has a split system Air conditioner which is great for cold nights! The Guest House also has a small kitchenette including sink,... More

Location is just perfect close to temples and nightlife. Hostel is small but so cute and comfortable. Dorm was big enough, futon on the floor style I loved it. Downstairs is the common area but also a cafe. But they let you bring your own food and drinks k's without problem if you are a hostel client. Staff is adorable... More

Gojo's guest house is a standard hostel in many ways, but also is filled with Japanese style and culture making it a great option for those looking for an authentic experience at a budget price. We stayed in a private room, but there were also dorms, all with tatami mats and sliding screens. There were toilets on both floors and... More

Best place I have been so far while travelling in three continents. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere and very homey. Japanese style dorm. Clean and nice hot showers. Small kitchenette to do some basic cooking. And we had a wonderful hanami with the staff this week. Sad to leave. Hope to be back one day.
