Pros : Efficient check-in process. Huge tatami rooms. Nice japanese style buffet breakfast. Good location, just 2 mins walk from Nishiki Market, where all the action is. (restaurants, shopping, etc) Cons : Very, very outdated decor, furniture looked 40 years old. Despite it being a non-smoking room, the bathroom smelt of smoke and had a damp smell to it. Lighting was dim. Didn't enjoy my stay, so I checked out and cancelled the rest of my stay after one night there. The hotel is clean, but I do think that it badly needs an updating.

Really nice hotel. Location fantastic, and easy to get to everything from here, as central. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms a good size, though low level Japanese beds, still very comfortable though. Good base if you are sightseeing a lot.

the place is a walking distance from subway (200-300m) and very close to Nishi Market and shopping area. Actually there are many attractions in the city so it is hard to define closeness but this a very quiet and good location. The single room was good size and well kept. They keep some complimentary supplies in the lobby such as razors, shaving cream, individually packed sponges (yes) etc. In room, shampoo and soap, hair dryer, bathrobe, TV and fridge. Good complimentary WiFi. Apparently their water is from the well (in case of earthquake) so you can drink it from the tap. I did as it is advertised in the lobby. Good breakfast with nice selection: eggs, ham, meat balls, tofu, miso soup, salads, fruits, coffee machine on the site... I booked on Rakuten Travel website and is good and reliable.

My only two complaints would be the breakfast quality and that the alarm clock didn't work. They replaced the alarm clock with one with only Japanese print but that was enough. The breakfast was definitely a selling point at this hotel's price but not worth it at all. Granted, perhaps the quality is better for the Japanese food (I couldn't try any here because there were no English signs about what anything was and I have fish/seafood allergies). The best thing about the hotel is its central location: being surrounded by the main market and nightlife area to the south and southeast, and the major tourist attractions to the north and northeast.
