Room size is spacious according to Japan standard. Location is opposite the main Kyoto train station. But still in the quieter areas. Kyoto train station itself houses many restaurants and shops selling snacks and souvenirs. Room was impeccably clean. Would definitely stay there again when...More
I stayed here 3 nights during the peak October season and I have to say its quite good value for a hotel within walking distance of Kyoto JR station.
The room is new and modern, with all the usual amenities provided, but unlike other hotels...More
A 5 minutes walk from Kyoto main station.
Not in a central location, but convenient if you have to travel by train during your Kyoto trip or if you stay for a short time.
From the station you should use the south (secondary) exit, on...More
We visited Kyoto and booked Almont hotel based on Trip advisor ratings. We also thought the hotel looked nice.
And yes, it was clean, tidy and the staff extremely helpful and lovely however it stops there.
We disliked this hotel for the following reasons:
Great room, comfy bed/pillows. Pretty big in size, especially for Japan. Could easily got our 2 carry on bags and rolling duffle with extra space to spare. Great bathroom set-up!! Big bathing room with separate deep garden tub and shower, perfect for couples! Nice separation...More

Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the
mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
