“We had a wonderful time at Kyoto Hotel Okaru, celebrating my birthday at theirTeppanyaki restaurant. The service is excellent and staff speak very clear English. Receptionists at Hotel Lobby are very friendly and helpful. Thank you Okura.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, a top class hotel situated in a very convenient location. The double rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious.Only minor quibble would be that the buffet breakfast is extremely busy and you may need to queue. The coffee shop was excellent, with superb pastries.
When we first got to our room I went straight in the bathroom. The door is like a plastic thin flimsy door. You have to take a very small step up. I felt like I was walking into a trailer. The bathroom is very dated. Countertops to the tile in the bathroom. We have two twin beds. You can feel the springs of the mattress with your bare hands, and the mattress dips badly!
Was available through airline (Qantas) at an attractive rate so booked. When I arrived I was very surprised by the cleanliness, the service and the location. Concierge staff were incredible. Great customer service and eating recomendations.
-centrally locates plus subway entrance is right below the hotel - don’t need to brave the weather! -wonderful staff with very polite and helpful bellmen to receptionists to concierges -rooms and bathrooms are spacious -bar on second floor is nice. Good drinks! -walking distance to good places to eat and shopping areas - chao chao gyoza, Mughal. -only hotel I’ve ever been to with humidifiers in every room -temperature controlled shower! -toilet seat warmer in every room -old world charm with hotel keys not key cards -very close to Nishiki market -can borrow umbrellas to go anywhere -very hospitable! Will stay here again in a heartbeat! FANTASTIC! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
