The hotel is opposite to the Kyoto station. It is near supermarkets, buses, restaurants, and trains. The services are excellent and friendly. The WIFI speed is acceptable for Facebook uploads and YouTube. The bathroom is small.

I would contradict with most of the previous reviews that rooms are small. Those reviews might be based on room size in other countries like Thailand, USA however one must understand that this is Japan and room sizes are often small. Considering other hotels in japan.I would say that the twin room is enough and would consider it as a...

As many reviewers commented before, the best thing about this hotel is the location, besides that is only an average hotel. Telling the staff is friendly is like telling that in the USA we speak mostly English, the courtesy and friendly manners are a given in Japan. PROS: just walking distance from the train, metro and bus stations; close to...

The Hokke Club was an interesting experience, and was well-described by previous reviewers. The positives: it’s in a great location if you’re in Kyoto for just a few days, being extremely close to the train station and bus hub. It also appears to be the location of much of the restaurant and nightlife, as attested to by the large number...

Hotel is just next to Kyoto train station, it is just superb. Receptionist was very friendly and offered 2 free gifts for women only. However, room is very small and no idea why the location of the air conditioner is directly facing the bed. The rooms needs a new facelift. Might want to consider adding the coin laundry machine and...

We stayed for 5 nights during our recent trip and of all the hotels we stayed in within other cities this came out top! The hotel is a stone's throw from Kyoto train and bus Station whilst having a great deal of shops (Mc Donalds, Yodobashi Camera, Starbucks, 7/11 etc) no more than a 1 minute walk in the vicinity....

LOCATION: The location is the highlight of this place and what a highlight it is! The hotel building is to the left of the Kyoto Tower if you're coming out of Kyoto Station, so you cannot miss it. There's an underground entrance right in front of the hotel, leading directly into the Porta Underground Mall which connects to the station,...

Just next to Kyoto station, so easy to move around Kyoto. Most useful hotel information translated to English, so good for foreign visitors. Friendly staff. Ladies have 2 complimentary gifts. Small room, typical of hotels in Japan. Clean. Free wifi. Unless rush for time, it's better to take breakfast elsewhere.

We stayed four nights were very happy with this hotel - just across the road from Kyoto station, next to Kyoto tower, which makes transportation around the city convenient. Keep in mind if you are a tourist in Kyoto the station area isn't exactly full of attractions, but it made a decent base for us, especially if you want to...

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighborhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
