We booked 2 rooms in order to accommodate our 4 children. The rooms were well appointed with a modern touch. Furniture and accessories looked brand new. The bathroom was small but had every accessory you could need. Location was an easy 5 minute walk from Kyoto station. Eventhough it rained we were not wet as there were undercover walkways. Buffet... The reception staffs are friendly and helpful with reasonable command of English. Room was spacious and with all amenities you need and were refilled everyday. The location to me is a bot embarrassing. It doesn't matter if it were a fine day. We arrived on an rainy day and 8 minutes walk was like a mile. We only realized afterwards... More

Pros: our room was very spacious and clean, shower is great, air con/ heat worked perfectly, and it was a good place to rest after a day of walking around the city. It was fairly near to the Kyoto station (5 min walk), which has a range of restaurants and souvenir shops, and a AEON shopping mall nearby. Overall, I... More

The hotel is only 7 minutes away from the big Kyoto Station, AEON mall where you can find all kinds of places to eat and shop. The room is adequately spacious, with quite interesting amenities, i.e face foam - which to me, is a nice touch. Last but not least, the hotel provide shuttle buses to the station, with special... Close to train station. Nice rooms with complimentary Nespresso! Loved their buffet breakfast. Wanted to buy their Yukata :) Complete toiletries. Very comfortable beds, including the extra bed. Special commendation to their front desk for helping me order flowers for a friend.

The hotel provides shuttle service between Kyoto Central station and the hotel. It is very convenient in this regard. The staff were very helpful. I was looking for a transformer for my electric tooth brush charger. Despite the limited English spoken by a staff member, he did his very best to find me one which is much appreciated.

Well located in the centre of the town walking distance from train station , though the hotel serves with free shuttle bus transportation . Check in is quick and the front office staff speaks english . Contact them to book private tours in the city many areas of which are far flung . Wifi is quite fast and works well... More

We had a GREAT stay here and it was very affordable. Loved the location. The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was still under construction and I was really looking forward to checking out the observation deck, but because of the construction, we couldn't. Also the cafe was VERY expensive!

This is a beautifully renovated hotel; the outside, lobby, restaurants and hallways are all very tastefully decorated, with a modern Japanese style and lots of open space. It's quite impressive The rooms have also been renovated, but instead of the high-end styling used for the rest of the hotel, it seems as though they purchased their furniture at IKEA. It's... More

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighborhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
