We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights for our family of 4. The rooms are in the smaller side, but just perfect for 2 people. Our rooms on the 9th floor did not have any view but overlooks this open barren space. Not a deal breaker for us as we were out all day and just return to the hotel...

We stayed 3 nights here with our 10 year old son - had a 3 bed room - excellent space and ambience. Great facilities and amenities also. Only minor complaint is that we couldn't really control the air-conditioning and the temperature was way too warm to be comfortable. Also a bit strange that there is no obvious entrance from the...

Justed stayed three nights excellent location close to restaurants and shops. Easy to catch the subway to this hotel station on the corner. Room was very hot slept with window open did go to turn aircon on but there was mold spores on the inlets in the roof. The buffet was a little disappointing tried to ask for the eggs...

The hotel is just at downtown, there are many restaurants and shops nearby (within 5 minutes of walk). The breakfast buffet is okay inside the hotel but you can take a hot coffee or Japanese breakfast outside. JR station and bus stops are also just outside. The twin room is spacious when compared with those at Tokyo and Osaka.

The location was very good, near public transport, near lots of restaurants and shopping. The rooms are pretty good, they were very clean and had the necessary amenities. The bathroom was clean, it was just a standard hotel bathroom. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to first time travelers as you can't beat the location and the price.

Decent sized room with space to move and luggage (unlike similarly priced Tokyo hotels). Hotel is very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The laundry was handy and very clean. Reliable free wifi. Located a short taxi ride from the main Kyoto station and situated in the midst of a huge shopping and food area. We will absolutely be staying...

I agreed that location for this hotel is good and near subway and eateries, but if you are a light sleeper, do not stay in this hotel. One can't sleep well in the night as there are frequent loud sound of ambulances, and as we are staying at the 5th level, we can even hear noises of people conversations below.

Of the 3 motels we stayed in Japan this was the most spacious, had the best wifi and air conditioning which was important for a Japanese summer. The motel is a little outdated but it's location makes up for this, close to a train station and plenty of bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was ok.

Second time staying at this hotel. This is the only one that allows children below 11 to share the bed with the parents without extra cost (only pay extra breakfast). Staying in City Center

Neighborhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
