If it is the location that you are after I suggest staying here. The hotel is clean and in a great location to get around Kyoto. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient. The rooms are clean and well kept. Everything in the hotel room worked and we had no problems at all.

The hotel has a very convenient location since it is located across the street from the station. The very big Mall inside the station and another one very close to the hotel make it convenient too. But clearly the hotel is not of new construction and they should make a better job in isolating the windows. For the prices too,... More

Synopsis (Overall + Value) Great location for transport, lovely hotel. Good size, spotless room. We stayed in a twin room at £45/night (pp) and breakfast was £8pp per night. Would definitely stay again. Location Located 1minute from Kyoto train station, the location is super convenient, even if you have lots of luggage. There are 24h convenience stores nearby. The hotel is very conveniently located opposite Kyoto station, making it an excellent base for travelling around the city. Being located so close to the station gives you a lot of options for eating and shopping. Kyoto station has a mall built around it.  The hotel itself is very nice and clean, with hotel staff speaking good English and being... More

If you're visiting Kyoto for a few days and want a full service hotel convenient to downtown, this is your place. Right across the street from the famous Kyoto train station (make sure you check out the north side, different from where the bullet trains are located), it's popular for tour groups and those who are first time visitors. Very... More

This is a very late review. Went October 2013. This hotel is across the train station so not very far. There was a mall down the block. Rooms were very good in size. Staff was super helpful and we were able to communicate great since the staff spoke English. The staff go out of there way to be very accommodating.... More

This hotel is next to the main train station (JR local and shinkensen) and main underground stations, it's close to shops and food. We stayed here for 3 nights was a great room quiet with a reasonably comfortable bed. (3.5/5) for sleep comfort. By Japanese standards the room (double) was large with a queen sized bed. Great WiFi and friendly... More

If you want to stay at a central location directly across the Kyoto Station, this hotel ranks very high in convenience. We booked this hotel 6 months in advance of our July visit and were able to get a spacious triple room on the 8th floor which appeared to be recently renovated. It was more spacious than we expected for... More

I stayed here with a group of friends to bum around Kyoto. This is a great hotel for just that. The proximity to the Kyoto station is fantastic. The room rates were very very good as well. I didn't eat at the hotel, but ate instead at many of the resturants in the mall/station. All the staff was curtious and... More

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
