The hotel is right in the heart of the Kyoto train station. We intentionally asked for a room with a view of the trains coming and going. We enjoyed the activity below our windows and were amazed that there was no discernible train noise even as the high speed trains came and left the station. The rooms are small, but... More

The location is superb, right in the Kyoto train station. We travelled via Shinkansen from Tokyo and were happy to check right into the hotel for a rest. The rooms are nothing to shout about. If you travel light it is fine, but when you have a huge luggage there is virtually no room to open it. All in all... More

Nice and clean, but beware of the sardine tin concept. I was not able to open my luggage in the room floor and had to place the bag on the bed to be opened. That aside, hotel was clean and toilet was decent. Beware if you are coming back late. Connection from station to kintetsu mall will be closed, so... More

I was lazy to find hotel in Kyoto so I decided to go for this hotel. It is at the Kyoto Station so it is very easy and convenient. Saved me from the trouble of finding the hotel and walking after 2 hours trip by Shinkansen from Tokyo. Shops and restaurants are everywhere around the hotel. Since it is at... More

We stayed here for two nights in July 2015 this was the most convenient to Kyoto station as we were to trave to Nagoya. I would recommend for utmost convenience and the hotel has a good basic facilities as you pass by. The breakfast was really good in the morning and all inclusive in the room price. The Kyoto station... More

I stayed in the hotel for one night and have only positive things to say. The staff was extremely helpful. For ex., I called the front desk for an iron and it was delivered in 3 minutes. There were a pajama to sleep in and toothpaste/toothbrush, all free of charge. My Japanese friend booked Hotel Kintetsu for me mostly for... More

We moved here having checked in at the Ibis Styles across the road and decided that their double room was too small and pokey as well as quite expensive. We found this within the station and took a wide twin room for a couple of nights. Slightly more expensive that the Ibis Styles and had to pay for the breakfast... More

I stayed for one night at the hotel during my business trip to Japan. It was clean and elegant. The staff were very nice and the room was small (as most hotels in Japan) but tidy. Breakfast was ok. The hotel had no facilities, but its location was convenient. few cafe's and shops are nearby and proximity to the train... More

We travel from Osaka to Kyoto by JR and the Hotel Kintetsu located right above the Kyoto Station. It is very convenient as we don't have to carry our luggage very far. The check in time for this hotel is 3pm, so we left our luggage bag for them to keep. The room is very small in size but clean.... More

We stayed at this wonderful hotel. I was worried that the noise from the train station would keep me up as I am a very light sleeper. To my surprise I couldn't even hear them coming or going. This hotel is also in a great location. And the shops and restaurants are too many to mention. Hotel staff was awesome... More

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
