Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.

Although located south of the city, this hotel is perfect, helpful staff, clean room and breakfast is very good. Furthermore, it takes only 30 mns by foot to reach Fushimi Inari. For dinner, restaurant Chobo Chobo, close to the hotel is perfect for okonomiyaki. To summarise, a great place in Kyoto

Let's start with the Pros- Comfortable beds! Slept great Good size rooms, loved the shower/bathroom Staff is super friendly and helpful Great ramen shop very close Lawson and 711 also very close Breakfast was usually very good, but also sometimes very different from what someone might expect. Cons- The location for us was a disappointment. Basically in a residential neighborhood with very little around. Nothing late night. The hotel is located between 2 subway stations equal distance apart. About a 5-7 min walk to either one. This would be convenient except that for most sites you need to transfer at Kyoto station. Kyoto station is 1 or 2 stops away from the hotel (depending which station you chose to use) or you can walk to Kyoto station (20 min walk). Basically, it's not as convenient as it sounds. And the subway trips to Kyoto station start to add up $2.50 per one way trip. Another con is the bar. We like to stay in hotels with a bar. This one doesn't open until 7pm and was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To us that's annoying, especially when there is nothing to do (or drink) in the area. Gallery- very cool art installation when we arrived. They took the exhibit down 2 days ago and the new exhibit has not been installed. Not a big deal to us but if you are only staying a couple nights and you expected to see an art installation you might be disappointed. Basically- on the hotel alone I would give 4 stars but because of the location I wouldn't stay here again. I like to be able to walk out of the hotel and see SOMETHING. a garden, park, museum, restaurant or shops. Maybe not all those things but at least something. There was no exploring to be done without walking at least 1km.

Thank you for staying this time. I am very honored to receive the words of praise for the beds and staff. On the other hand, we are inconvenient for hotel access and bar opening hours. The exhibition period of the gallery varies depending on the contents of the exhibition, and we apologize for not being able to enjoy it during your stay. All staff will work hard so that you can be satisfied with other services because of inconvenience caused by access. Kyoto has various attractions depending on the season, so I hope you come again.

I love the hotel itself, the gallery in the lobby, the artsy vibe on the first floor... The rooms are large by Japan standards, and well appointed. The only issue was the location. It’s quite far from everything and t With limited time in the city, I felt that this was a definite disadvantage for me. There are a couple of bus lines near y, and two subway/metro lines within 1km walking distance, but to get anywhere took a long time. And, I felt quite isolated. It wasn’t until I took a bus for 20 minutes that I felt like I was actually seeing any part of Kyoto. I liked the hotel but wouldn’t stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone coming to see the city.

We apologize for any inconvenience in accessing the hotel. It is about a 20-minute walk from Kyoto Station and a 7-minute walk from the nearest subway station, Kujo Station. It is one stop from Kyoto Station to Kujo Subway Station, and you can get to most sightseeing spots in Kyoto city by bus from Kyoto Station. I wish I could have provided such access information during your stay, but I was sorry if we couldn't guide you. During your stay, we offer gallery, breakfast and bar that you can enjoy in the hotel. So, we hope you enjoyed it there. If you have the chance, please come back and enjoy the four seasons of Kyoto.

Stayed in the Hotel Anteroom for three nights. It is a 10 minute walk from the main KyotoStation with a bus stop& Kujo Subway steps away. There is a small gift shop & art gallery in the lobby. There is s separate smoking room so we didn’t see or smell any smoke. The small washers and dryers were really appreciated! Our room 201 was quiet, comfortable & clean. It was large with a frig @ patio. Breakfast was included from 6:30 until 11 daily. The warm pastries, salads, fruits, juices, smoothies, sandwiches, cereals, cappuccinos ... were a great way to start the day. The English speaking knowledgeable staff made our trip special. There were too many wonderful people to call out! They helped us navigate the attractions, transportation, shops ... everything Kyoto!!! I hate to leave!
