I had a great deal on this hotel and was very happy with my choice. The room was super clean and more spacious than I expected. No closet for your clothes, though. there is one drawer next to the bed, for some small stuff. Two electricity sockets and 2 usb inlets per bed. The beds were very comfy! Shower and bath were perfect. Reception was very accommodating. The room has a water heater and fridge. Couple of things notable: Station Tokyo is a 10 minutes walk, if you walk briskly. I thought the station was closer by, so that was a misconception on my part. Breakfast is very Japanese: many choices, but definitely not for vegetarians. I was glad our neighbors spent their evenings talking and not much else, because we could hear them talk, the walls were that thin. No safe in the room. All in all, I would personally choose an hotel nearer to the station, but if you don't mind the walk, the price and quality of the hotel couldn't be better, that's why 4 stars.

Location is 1km from train. Can be a long walk if you have bunch of stuff. We had a corner room. Which was big. Guessing bigger than normal? They had coffee/tea. All with the super miniature creamer!!

The room was good, very clean, and big enough for me.. What I felt weird was the room had a table but without the chair, but they were kind enough to provide me one after I requested it. I was lucky to have met Gangsi, the Indian girl, the receptionist at the time I checked it. We could communicate well coz we were both from the English-speaking country. Thanks for her help in booking the seat for my Kyoto-Kansai limousine airport bus. The only downside of the hotel was too far, 1739 walking steps from the Kyoto Station, and around which there were no decent restaurants. I felt dead tired everyday to walk back to the hotel from Kyoto Station after a 14,000 to 19,000 step-walks and climbs from the tours!

The hotel’s proximity to the train station is its biggest plus point. Just a 5 min walk. Since the hotel is pretty new, its facilities I guess are still falling in place. Rooms will be cleaned only when asked for. B/f is very limited with a mix of japanese and bit of continental. Wifi is free. Beds very comfy to simply crash out. Was definitely impressed with maximum usage of minimal space, without it feeling oppressive (bathroom)! So after a hard or busy day, remember the comfy beds and come here.

Visited Kyoto this past weekend as the cherry blossom season was coming into full swing. We were able to book a room at the new Kyoto Crystal Hotel III just a few days in advance of our trip with no problem. As the name suggests, Kyoto Crystal Hotel III is the third Crystal Hotel location for Kyoto. It opened around the end of 2018 / early 2019 just down the street from the hotel’s other two locations, so it’s quite new and everything from the room itself to the bed and linens still have that brand new sheen. The hotel is well located, 10 minutes from Kyoto Station and within a 20-30 minute walk of Fushimi Inari, Gion, Kiyomizudera, and Nishiki Market. There are also plenty of bus stops and a couple of train stations nearby for those who are not walking inclined. The traditional-meets-modern Wa aesthetic of the hotel fits Kyoto very well. The room is by no means spacious, but it’s fairly standard sized for a Japanese hotel, and comes with all the expected amenities including a fridge, blow dryer, water kettle, and basic toiletries. There’s a vending machine in the lobby selling soft drinks, and convenience stores within a couple of blocks that sell alcoholic beverages. There is also a breakfast buffet offered from 7am in the morning, although we did not try it. The hotel front desk staff speak several languages, including of course English and Japanese, and were polite and professional. You’ll need to leave your card key with them by noon if you’d like your room cleaned. Housekeeping reset the room to new, although it did seem rather wasteful that my hotel toothbrush was thrown out and replaced after the first night. One minor incident that occurred during our stay was that our room door was not shut fast after housekeeping finished, so the door was left very slightly ajar the entire day. Nothing in our room was disturbed, but it was a bit concerning that housekeeping didn’t properly check to make sure the door was shut behind them. A very nice stay overall for a reasonable price, but no fancier than any other business hotel. It’s listed as a 4-star hotel on booking sites, but I’d consider it more of an upper-3.
