Conveniently connected with Kansai Airport Bus to Kyoto Avanti (in front of Kyoto Station), and walk for 15 minutes to reach the hostel. Could take bus from the other side of the road to Kiyomizu & Gion area, directly (without changing bus). The hostel is clean, as usual, the Japanese standard. No lift / elevator. We left our 28" luggage... More

I'd stay for 2days, there's very nice place, clean and humble staff. They give me advice to choose bicycle to surround Kyoto. And they have big bed with tall space, thats pretty good.. i think. So, if you will go to Kyoto alone or with friends, i thought this place will be good choice for you.

Guesthouse is 10 minutes walking distance from Kyoto Station. To move around Kyoto, there is a bus stop just opposite to the guesthouse. The dorm is very comfortable and clean with free wifi available. Check in by 11am to give away for the other guest to check out and staff to prepare the room for you. Blanket and bed sheet... More

Stayed here solo for 3 nights. It's quite easy to find, an easy walk from the train station but quite a walk from other areas with many tourist attractions. Excellent staff who checked me in despite arriving at the wrong time - good facilities throughout and a decent sized kitchen area for a hostel. Beds were really good - lots... More

We had to book our stay in here because every room in Kyoto was sold-out due to the July Festival. It was just average. The good: - The staff speak perfect english, spanish and italian. - Not too far from the subway. - Bed was clean. - Each bed has curtains for privacy. The so-so: - The girl on the... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. First night was at a 6 bedded ladies' dorm. Dorm was spacious enough for 6 people. There was ample space for all of us with luggages. Individual private space was also good. But the bottom bunk where I stayed could use more curtain. All in all, I enjoyed my first time in a dorm. Last... More

The night we arrived at J-Hoppers Kyoto we got on the wrong train and showed up after the 2200 check-in time. The staff was gracious enough to provide us our room keys and permit us to complete the check-in process in the morning. The cost of lodging was very reasonable and included everything we expected and more. The dorm rooms... More

Six of us ( 3 senior citizen couples) stayed for 4 nights in an 8-beded mixed Dorm. The beds are really comfortable. All young staff are very friendly and helpful. Patient in answering all our questions on transportation, places of interest. The kitchen and dinning facilities are excellent, you can cook all your meals there. Superb free WiFi. We made... More

This is not a five-star hotel, but a good place if you want to stay in Osaka at a budget price. It offers dormitory sleeping as well as single room sleeping at a low price. There is a lounge, very friendly reception service, kitchen to prepare your own food, tea and coffee is available, some restaurants nearby and it is... More

spent a night in the female dorm, and the 2nd night in the mixed dorm. the best thing about the place is that there is a staff who would help with our luggage, all the way up to the highest floor (4th floor, female's dorm). since we were there during winter, the tap in the toilet of the 4th floor... Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
