We loved staying here! The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, also I've never seen the staff of a hostel clean as much as these guys did. Every morning the whole hostel was cleaned thoroughly, even vacuuming under the sofa cushions and cleaning the windows. We had a triple room and it was clean and comfy, the kitchen/lounge area was...

Check-in: Smooth! I arrived way before check-in but they checked me in away; however, my bed would be ready later because it was still not cleaned up after the guest before me. They let me leave my stuff. Staff: Was nice and helpful! Room/bed: Very clean, you have to make your bed when you arrive, put the pillowcase on, the...

This guest house is near station but around 10 mins walk. Entire building is j-hoppers guest house. They have separate as well as common dormitory. Mostly you will find foreigners here. Rooms are clean and comparatively specious. In Female dormitory there are 6 beds, lockers and mirror. They have common toilet and bathroom with hot and cold water. Toilet and...

J-Hoppers Kyoto Guest House is easily accessible from Kyoto Station. I rented a bike near the station and it only took me about 5 minutes to ride to the hostel. There is a 24 hour 7-11 right across the street which is great for ATM, and basic goods. The staff was helpful and everyone I met was able to communicate...

I really enjoyed my stay at J-Hoppers Kyoto. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and English was readily available (though not a big factor to me). You can purchase a one-day bus pass from the front desk, which is very helpful as there is a bus stop right across the street corner. The hostel itself is about 10-15 min...

The personnel spoke a very good English. For every 3 days stayed in the hostel you receive a gift from the Hostel (different activities for free). Bunk beds not very comfortable (because it was moving), but they were large enough to put your personal bag close to you. 15mins on foot from the Train station, but about 20 mins from...

Close to JR Kyoto station and many convinience stores and izakaya around there, it's a good place in terms of budget. Amenities are very good, two pc's, free wifi, a kitchen and a living room. Only problem is that there's no elevator and the stairs are very steep.

Almost everyone arrived at Kyoto Station when visiting Kyoto. J-Hoppers Kyoto is just few mins walk from there. Living room is spacy and cool. There are also tatami room in the 5th floor. Bath and Shower rooms are clean and nice. Bus stop to Kiyomizudera and Gion is just across the street, so does 7Eleven.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
