This hotel is perfect in every way. Very comfortable and chilled atmosphere. 5 star service from the staff. Super clean. Lovely Japanese style rooms. Good location. Very close to subway and lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops in the area. I will certainly stay here again and highly recommend
This was a pleasant and modern hotel with clean and nicely decorated rooms. Location was good, not great but you can walk to many places and the subway is really close too. What I didn’t like about this hotel was that the advertised size of the room (20 square meters) was absolutely not the actual size of the room which I believe was probably more about 14-15 square meters. Considering that the size of the room was the main reason why I choose this hotel over other ones better located I was very disappointed. Also the rooms are extremely dark and there’s no desk (and of course no closet), so even if you have a good size beds you are still lacking a lot of amenities. I guess it’s ok for a 2-3 days stay.
We stayed in this hotel as part of a group tour. In fact, I chose this specific group tour purely because it included this hotel. The communal areas and our hotel room were lovely in design, typical of Japanese style, rather than a bland western hotel. yes, OK, the rooms are not the biggest but our beds were huge and we still had plenty of space to move around the room. Storage space was sufficient for two people and all amenities had been well thought out. The only small problem I had was getting used to the beds, as the mattress was very firm, however, that is very good for your back. You have some great restaurants right on your door step. If you are a fan of curry, there's an excellent curry house 3-4 doors down from the hotel that I recommend you try.
The hotel location is a big plus, being less than 5-min walk away from a big station of two lines (Karasuma station/Hankyu-Kyoto line and Shijo station/metro line). The neighborhood is rather quiet but it still provides a lot of choices in terms of restaurants. The decor of the room is exactly the way I like it for a Japanese hotel: lots of wood, paper windows, tatami floor but with a western bed! Like many have said here, I confirm that the room is really too dark. The lighting is only suitable for sleeping or for a cup of matcha (apparatus provided!) and not for you to read tourist pamphlets in preparation for your itinerary the following day. Note that most rooms (including ours which was a standard twin) only have windows opening up to the wall of the next building, thus absolutely no light could come in. My husband and I found ourselves hitting the corner of the bed which was quite sharp, so be careful! They should really consider adding extra lights or dimmers. Pricing is reasonable. Try to book early for a better price. This is my third stay with a Resol hotel and I found the chain commendable overall.…
Excellent location, clean, stylish and well appointed room. Small, yes, but perfectly formed. Loved the complimentary toiletries which arrived every night in a cute little bag. Close to two stations and lots of good places to eat. There's also a small laundry where you can wash and dry your clothes if you're mid-trip ;)
