Excellent location. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully furnished with traditional accents such as the paper window screens yet very well-equipped. Nice touch with the kimono and smart phone. Wonderful place, would very much like to return.
The apartment had everything necessary and in excellent condition, thoroughly clean. They had instructions for all the appliances. Only problem: Understanding signs for the washing machine and climatization, which were written in japanese symbols, which they solved. The staff was extremely friendly and tried always to help. They told us to ask for anything additional we could need. When we asked, they complied ! We felt very welcomed.
We loved this place - it was just beautifully and thoughtfully designed. It was the first place we stayed in which felt like someone's home, but where that someone had impeccable taste and had also provided for your every comfort! We booked a Deluxe Twin Room and were absolutely blown away by the serenity and spaciousness of the room, plus the laundry facilities, huge bathroom and kitchen. All the staff members we met were friendly, helpful and had perfect English skills. We even tried umeshu for the first time on the house! It was the perfect location - quiet but well within walking distance of the famous spots. This place is a gem and we would highly recommend it!
we enjoyed a nice place with a very good welcome. the hotel is in a nice district of Kyoto with lot of restaurants. the room is very comfortable and calm. we enjoyed to have a smartphone with 4G from the hotel that allowed us to find easily all places to visit. we recommend completely K House.
Great location!! Wonderful, friendly staff! My K House will always be a special part of our Kyoto memories. A real gem of a find - close to the transportation, great restaurants and quaint neighborhoods.
Very personal, accommodated us at the last minute, front desk staff was amazing, rooms were beautiful and clean, we felt safe and cared for as we were so far from home. We will be back sooner than later!
Great great great great great great great great Great room - excellent balcony- nice staff - great area - excellent bathroom- as I said great ... really good - far out - groovy- 200 characters is a bit much ... what else do you want from me - an essay - the place was great
I traveled with my girfriend to Japan for the first time during typhoon Hagibis and was beyond happy to see how great and accomidating My K House was. The staff was ultra friendly and English speaking, the view of Kyoto was fantastic, the area is nice and walking distance to a lot of places like Nishiki market, and they even have a washer/dryer. The beds were super comfortable. The lady at the front desk went above and beyond and helped me wrap our luggage in plastic trash bags to keep them dry from the typhoon. 10/10 recommend anyone to stay here, especially for the price.
We booked the suite on the top floor which is spacious and comfortable with a large bedroom, and big living room which includes a small kitchen and washing machine. A generous walk-in closet, and a bath with a spectacular view and a zen alcove arenice added features. A perfect haven of tranquility very near the action of Gion. We were there during a sort of heat wave in September, so that it was not possible to make full use of the amazing balcony, with the sun shining so intensely during that week, but the view into the higashiyama mountain is breathtaking. The suite is tasteful and combines all the best of Japanese and Western comforts. The tea provided is very tasty. The staff is charming, helpful and English speaking. The hotel is near some very nice restaurants (especially Otaya, about 20 meters away), and is about 6-7 minutes walk to the Gojo subway station, and is near Gion. The hotel is not near many of the touristy spots, but that is a plus, and the way to the metro or bus is near enough. There are very few cons: The rooms cannot be really darkened (but an eye mask compensates for those who are light sensitive); you need to take a key with you because there is no reception after 23:00; Some taxis do not want to go into the very narrow street (but the hotel is a mere 20-30 meters from the main street so that this is manageable even with luggage); The set breakfast is western and cannot cater to everyone's taste obviously (with only 7 rooms they cannot offer a huge selection, but I found it was just fine, and the kitchenette made up for any other need). I cannot wait to return, it was one of the most charming and pleasant hotels I have visited!…
This was a surprise to find. Its a small building with a few apartments in a quiet area of town. The room was a typical Japanese minimalist room, very clean and with everything you would need to feel at home. It has a small kitchen area, a very nice bathroom and really comfortable bets. I would repeat my stay there if Im back in Kyoto.
