Neighborhood
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.

My husband and I just stayed 4 nights at this hotel and don't want to leave! One of the most comfortable hotels I've ever stayed at. To start, the staff is extremely friendly every time you enter, and check in is fast and efficient. The lobby also smells amazing and is nicely

We checked in on 4th April for four nights at the hotel. The rooms are very tiny. For a single person the room size may just be about ok but double occupancy is a challenge. The breakfast is adequate. For vegetarians there are very limited options. The staff however is very

This is very good choice. Immaculately clean, right next to exit 6 Shinjo subway station. The reception staff are always delightful and keen to help. Comfortable beds and good bathrooms etc. and good coin operated washers and dryers on the second floor. I would have given this

Thank you for your question. You can take shuttle bus from Kansai airport to Kyoto Station or Shijo Karasuma. From Kyoto Station, you can take a cab or subway "Karasuma Line" get off at Shijo Starion. From Shijo Karasuma, it takes about 10 min. on foot. We look forward to seeing you soon. Have a safe trip. Sincerely, The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Shijo Front Desk
