Right next to Kyoto Station and all its various restaurants and shops. The furniture's a little dated but clean, though the bed is hard. The sofa in the room makes it feel a little more homely. I was able to check in early when I arrived, and staff were happy to look after my luggage the day I checked out...

Very clean and neat room. Front desk support very good. Room cleaning service very good. Great view. Furniture, Bath room are excellent. Walk about 3mins to JR Kyoto. In my opinions, El-inn Kyoto is a very valuable, clean, comfortable hotel in Kyoto. Please find in the attached pictures. Only one to complain is hair dryer. I'm think it is low...

The location is right next to Kyoto station. There are quite a few places to shop and to eat. The price is reasonable based on its location. The wifi is free and good to have. The room is clean and with windows with natural sunlight. The space is standard for Japanese hotels--reasonable for small size people, but too small for...

Great accommodation and really close to the train and subway station so was very convenient. You have to remember to grab your amenities from downstairs before you got o your room. Beds are hard - but thats normal in Japan so you get used to it. Staff are very friendly, coin laundry available in the building so you are not...

Stayed at the El Inn for 3 nights and then an extra night on a different tariff. Good location and friendly staff. The first stay was excellent: Nice room with a small sofa and breakfast included. The breakfast was a really good buffet, although it was a bit of a log jam at the start time. Second stay: Small room...

Stayed 5 nights If you’re planning to move around by train a lot whilst based in Kyoto this a great place to stay in. It’s located a minute's’ walk from the rear of Kyoto station where the subway and shinkansen entry points are located. What I really liked about this hotel (besides location and price ) is that it has...

Hotel prices in Kyoto during cherry blossom season can be quite steep and was lucky to find this business hotel. Next to the Kyoto station so it is really convenient to travel around the area using bus, train or the underground. There is nothing fancy in the hotel but it is clean and comfortable. So it is ideal for those...

We stayed at El Inn for 2 nights in Kyoto. Booked from their website directly. Typical business hotel in Japan, convenient located, clean and no fuss. Very easy to find the hotel (if you haven’t lost in the Kyoto station), only a few minutes walk from the East Exit. There’s Lawson opposite to the hotel and 7-11 along the way...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
