Basically a really good hotel. We stayed in a Japanese style room, which was very spacious and the futons were comfortable. The only small negatives were a damaged bathroom rail and the Apple TV remote not working well. I wouldn’t normally mention them, but as it was a bit more e

The location was amazing, however you do need to take a bus or a taxi to Kyoto station. It was traditional and was right in the middle of traditional Kyoto. There was a temple about five mins away from the hotel by walking. It was was only a five min walk to the cafes on the Mai

this is one of the best place to stay when you visit Kyoto, it’s right at the center of Kyoto old town and close to everything. The hotel is small but very comfortable, the room is quite large and staff are very nice and experienced.

I booked a Japanese style room with 1 futon. There is no Japanese twin available. I'm travelling with my partner. Is 1 futon big enough for 2 adults?
Yes it does fit 2 adults comfortably, if you are not the mega American size. The futon is like a twin bed, 1.2 m wide, maybe.

We will be a family of 4 adults. Our daughter and son-in-law are traveling with us. Is there a Japanese style room or suite with a private bathroom the 4 of us can share? Can the room or suite be divided into 2 sleeping areas so we don't disturb each other? Thank you, Wistar
Hi,i think the room is difficult to divided into 2 parts, but definitely can share the bathroom and toilet. last time we had 5ppl to travel together, and we had two rooms. or u can ask the hotel to add a screen in the middle of the 4ppl room, but maybe heard each other...

We are looking to stay in a Ryokan style room from October 6-8 2016. I am not clear on your availability during those dates. Could you please let me know? Thank you.
Thank you so much for your inquiry. As to the room availability on 6-8 Oct 2016, we are very afraid we have an available room only on 7th. If you need more information, would you please contact us through "Inquiry by e-mail" of Maifukan's website? Thank you so much for your understanding in advance. Sincerely yours, Gion Maifukan

Hello. I notice the Japanese-style rooms have a private bath. Is that a bath+shower, or just a bath? Thank you.
It's a bath and shower together and is small and deep.
