10 min walk to Shijo Karasuma Station. Family Mart right beside and Fresco right opposite. I like their comfortable bed. There is a air purifier in the room. Mircrove at the lobby. Launderette located at 6th floor.

Though pricey, it was a wonderful night stay. We booked for 3pax and they gave us 4 beds. I liked how the room has seperate shower, basin & toilet room so each of us can do diff things at the same time. Location was good. Away from the bustling Kyoto station, a good place to retreat to after a day... More

The rooms are small (as you would expect in Japan), but they are very clean and comfortable. Perfect for resting after a good day of sightseeing. The included breakfast was just perfect, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is well positioned and has good food and convenience stores nearby.

A very helpful staff. Rooms are Japanese small, but clean and comfortable. Don't bring big luggage as there is no much space in the room. Staff speaks ok English and that's what you need in Kyoto. The location is good and the bus stop is just out of the hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The staff were not friendly et al. The room was not clean and convenient. No room service available. They cannot understand English (this is usual in Japan but their english was far lower than average). The room that I booked included free wifi but there was no wifi available in the room.... More

Nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Location was convenient (on main Kyoto street, close to bus stations and subway). Service was nice and friendly. Refrigerator in room. Other reviews mentioned the size. Sure, it's tiny for what you're paying (especially during cherry blossom time), but this is Japan! Bathroom was plenty big enough for 1 person at a time. Everything was very... More

We have chosen this hotel for two reasons: it was located in the area we wanted to stay and it was the only one available in the Sakura bloom season around the budget we had planned for. Location: 5 stars (On the Shijo Boulevard and within a few bus stations or 15 - 20 minutes walking to Pontocho Alley). Rooms:... More

I wasn't overly impressed with this hotel. It was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It's very central and loads of places to eat and drink nearby. Bus stops for going any where in city very handy. Also not a huge distance from the train station. Walking distance without bags and not much in a taxi. Just... More

Staying in City Center

Neighborhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
