If this hotel was a car. It would be a 1989 bottom of the line Nissan Altima. While meeting the definition of a vehicle. It will never impress you or anyone else. It was clean. It had a bathroom. It had an updated lobby. If you need a extra blanket grab one while supply’s last. The point is. keep looking if you have medium expectations in your hotel.
Hotel is very modern and the room size is decent, especially when compared with hotels in Tokyo. The beds were very comfortable and we did not detect much outside noise. There are several nearby breakfast options should the in-house buffet be more substantial and pricier than you are looking for. It's a doable but healthy walk to the heart of the city though there are bus and subway options as well. All in all, the hotel is at a quite convenient location.
Our stay was just perfect. Given the price, I didn't expect much on this hotel but the room was very clean and spacious which was a true surprise. It was very easy to access from the Kyoto station and main touristic attractions. Hotel staff was very friendly. They speak English and they tried to help us whenever we needed. High level of hospitality. We are a large group (~70 people) from different countries and it was the first time for most of us to visit Japan. Almost all of people in our group said they would love to come back to this hotel. Highly recommended!! There is a nice Japanese restaurant on the first floor where you can eat breakfast. We did not have a chance to try, but it looked very clean and modern. There is a convenience store in front of the hotel.
Very very slow wifi signal and the staff deny to do anything to improve it. They just said they can’t do anything. I test the speed and it’s just 5 Mbps. It’s the basic accommodation but they can’t provide it to the guests.
Went online to search for a hotel and saw rave reviews on this. Photos of the room were highly misleading. I had a double bed bit what I saw on photos were shockingly different from actual room. It is small. I couldn't fit 2 regular luggage without doing am obstacle course. Plus our hand carry, it is a challenge. Another shocker was the price I paid online and the price I saw published on the hotel website. Although the dates were different, comparison was made for the same room and same week. I paid more than 50% more. Please do your homework and compare diligently. It is probably a low e star hotel so make a judgement of the price against the star ratings. Otherwise, location, cleanliness and convenience is as what many reviewers have stated. Just be careful in your expectations of the room size and price.…
Excellent internet, good work desk. Several electric sockets. Bathroom had full amenities. Bed firm and comfortable. Free Smart phone came with the room. Excellent location near markets, restaurants and public transplantation.
Highly recommend this chain of hotels from my experience last year and now. Cannot find a single flaw. Perfect location. Bus stop is 3 minutes away and subway is a 8 minute walk. Kinkakuji is only 25 minutes away by bus.Tully's cafe and Holly's cafe are within walking distance. Short bus ride to Gion. Excellent fresh cooked food at Nishinotoin just at the bus stop. Had meals twice here and both times the food was very good. Good location and very accesible to many sightseeing places
The hotel is situated at a good location with a lot of restaurants (Cuisine: Japanese, Italian, Thai, India/Nepali) and lots of cafes nearby. Karasuma subway line is nearby which is 2 stations away from Kyoto station from where you can get Shinkansen and other railway lines. Bus stops for Gion, Nishiki, Arshiyama are all nearby. Location wise it is a good choice. Breakfast is not that great with limited options and its the same dishes repeated. The breakfast area is small and there is always a waiting of 15-20 mins to get a table. We had booked a triple room and it was quiet comfortable. They allow kids to share a double room with parents but it can be very small. Hence if you are travelling with kids, its better to book a triple room. Staff is friendly but struggle while speaking English, hence are not able to explain directions or easier routes etc. Overall, it was a good experience for the price we paid.…
Great hotel quite modern - small rooms which are expected but very clean and tidy. very helpful and friendly staff- we booked a massage last minute and they worked it so we could both have one, which we appreciated. Close to stores and the busy tourist areas and subways/metros.
Rooms were very small. Clean and tidy. Breakfast could have had a bit more to offer . Location not to bad from some of the city night life. Good bus service up and down the length of the main road running the length of the city centre. and cheap.
