Although the Hotel is inexpensive it is very average. Faded carpets and old furnishings in a very small room space and tiny beds. The staff were very nice and helpful. It is situated in a very noisy area with nightclubs , red light activities and night long cat fights. The breakfast is basic Japanese , only rolls and butter for...

We got a room in the eight floor, where the floor was full of stains, not clean at all. Even though the room and the bed were big, all the furniture is pretty outdated. I found this hotel below the standards of quality in Japan. Also, given the price i paid for it, more than double than in other budget...

Nice budget hotel. Easy to find, just follow the map. The hotel is close to shops, stores, and other facilities. About 7mins from Kobe Sannomiya Station. Breakfast was great, love the curry - so delicious. Very recommended especially if you need hotel around Sannomiya and Kitano area.

Quite dated room and furnish. Bathroom without electricity outlet. Not too pricey for the size of the room, location and amenities. It's mins away from Kitano and restaurants. Maybe 7 mins walking from train station. If you don't mind the decor is kind of old and located in a very busy streets with restaurants around, this is a good place...

My single room is tiny by Western standards, but adequate. The actual name of the hotel is Daiichi Grand Hotel Sannomiya..so don't look for Hotel Area One if you make a reservation here. Presumably catering mostly for Japanese guests there are not a lot of signs in English. My room at the back overlooking the Ikuta Shrine has a nice outlook...

Pay attention, this hotel is now called Daiichi Grand Hotel Kobe Sannomiya. The rooms are very spacious and clean although the stereo system was a bit old. The reception is situated on the second floor but there are no marks. Hotel is quite away from railway station (especially if you get the wrong indications....).

Stayed for 2 nights in 3 persons room. The Good.......... > Very good location (walking distance from Sannomiya station/ shopping area/restaurants/temple) > The room consider big if compare to other budget hotel in Japan. > The room was clean > Free welcome drinks in the bar > Shiseido/Kose shampoo and shower gel > Comfy bed and pillow > Staff were...

For the price we paid, it was excellent. Facility itself is bit old but service from staff overcomes the physical appearance (not too bad, just feel bit like in 90's) Location is not too bad. It is a bit of walk from Sannomiya Station but do not try short-cut. I tried to do some short-cut but I was completely lost....

We stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions during our stay - before and after we visited Tokyo and although it wasn't as modern as the other hotel we stayed in, it was more than suitable and still very comfortable. No problem with the size of the room, it was adequate and more than expected for a hotel in Japan....

We stayed at five different hotels while in Japan and by far this was the worst one especially for the price. Bathroom looked like it came right out of an RV trailer with no electricity. Room was very small and very stuffy. Had two rooms for four people and we had to sleep together (2) in the same small double...
