One bit of advice, Hankyu Railway currently offers an Arima Onsen/Rokkosan 2 days pass that is of unbelievable value. It allows travelers to ride the train or cable car and ropeway to go all the way from Kyoto or Umeda to Arima Onsen and back on the next day for 3,100 yen. The package includes a 1,000 yen coupon which can be used as part of the Arima Onsen hotel stay payment (if your hotel is on the list, most are). You must take advantage of this if you are going by train.
We arrived earlier than our designated arrival time. But Okunobo was still pleased to check us in and take our luggage.
