Surrounded by red & yellow autumn leaves, this is a traditional hot spring hotel serving good kaiseki cuisine Kobe beef dinner & breakfast. We had spacious Japanese tatami rooms with wonderful pillows, the "silver & gold" hot springs were so so. We spent the evening in great karaoke bar, singing & sipping champagnes with a very friendly Japanese couple whom... More

Loved it here, perfect break to relax in between Osaka & Tokyo. A must do, the hot springs were amazing if you're not shy to go naked. The massage chairs were great way to relax after a dip in the hot springs. They have a games room to kill the time because other than restaurants there isn't much else to... More

Nice view from room. Nice in room dinner. No private onsen was disappointing. Average overall. WiFi only available in lobby. Getting there was a steep climb. But worth the climb for the view we enjoyed

Getting to this place isn't the most convenient thing, but it's well-worth it! The staff there are extremely polite and helpful, and they are dressed in traditional Japanese attire which heightens the entire experience. Gift shop isn't too shabby as well, I managed to pick up quite a number of gifts there. I really enjoyed walking around the resort with... More

If you feel ready to spend a couple of days in a authentic Onsen in the Kobe/Osaka area, then Arima is the place. We have chosen the Kinzan hotel following the recommendation in the Japanese website called "japanican" The hotel is closed to the train station and to the bus station. So very convenient. Also it is 5 minutes walking... More

From the minute you walk through the gate at the Hotel Kinzan, you know you are somewhere different. The service is smooth and professional without being pretentious and immediately provides the weary traveler a calm, relaxing environment. The hotel is Traditional, yet modern, is sublime but refreshing. You'd think the juxtaposition of these would cause a grinding conflict, but they... More

The reception by kimono-dressed receptionists immediately sets the mood for a cultural experience. Although the Ryokan has the facilities of a business hotel -- elevator, western style bar -- it does not deter from an authentic Onsen experience. The Onsen is large and well equipped, with an outdoor iron-rich hot spring, and an indoor mineral hot spring. Breakfast is as... More

My husband and I spend an evening here, and loved the cultural experience! One of the reasons we chose to stay here was because you could book a private hot spring as a couple, rather than having to share a public one. -Service: we were warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Upon arrival we were given a Japanese "bean"... More

How extraordinary is that. The Arima Grand Hotel is #1 on TA, however if you want a more boutique Ryokan experience, with Michelin star quality food, then Kinzan is a better choice. Kinzan is still a fairly large establishment, with facilities such as a banquet hall and conference rooms, a sizeable gift store, a Karaoke bar and even a piano... More
