We were 2 persons but the room they gave us was enough for 5 to 6 pax. Absolutely huge!! Views over the red bridge was nice and we could even hear the sound of the streams at night which was really nice and peaceful. the rooms were very well equipped and came with a bath and separate toilet. most of...

After our brief stay in Kyoto we went to Kobe for the onsens in Arima. We stayed int he Arima Gyoen which was a Ryokan style hotel. We were staying on the 9th floor with a city view. You could see the little town and a lovely sunrise from our room. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff and...

I considered this as a bargain for Arima Onsen area hotel. I stayed here for two nights at end of August. I took the half board option which include breakfast and in room Kaiseki dinner. Food was not bad with Kobe beef. First night is Shabu shabu with a paper hotpot. Yes paper. It does not burn through. Second night...

It feels like a very traditional Japanese hotel. It is old but in good condition. We went as a group of 7 with a child, we had a fabulous time there especially enjoyed our meal. The surrounding area are streets full of hot spring hotels and souvenir shops, people would wear the hotel's Japanese bathing rope while shopping.

It is very near to the train station, only 2 minutes walk, which is very convenient. We booked the suite with an outdoor basin. The staff there were super nice and helpful. There was a gentleman who can speak Cantonese as well. He introduced the room clearly and detailedly. The food there was impressive as well. A lady served the...

We stayed here for one night as a weekend trip. We arrived at around 5pm on a Saturday rainy day. Staff was highly attentive and courteous. One of them could speak Cantonese to us while introducing hotel facilities. Another colleague helped us to load our bags all the way to the 7/F. He was also kind enough to wipe our...

Although not as luxurious as many Onsen hotel in the town, the location is superbly convenient. From Shin Kobe station, the local train will bring you right into Arima Onsen station. From the station, it is just a 5 minutes walk to the hotel. All shops and eateries are within walking distance. I will suggest booking the full board package....

This hotel is just a short walkable distance from the train station. A very large resort with large rooms. Meals are served in the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very little English spoken here. WI-FI are in the 1st floor and 7th floor common areas. I lucked out since my room was close to the 7th floor common...

This is a decent onsen, conveniently located near the train station. However, It doesn't have the intimate feel of the high end onsens. I recommend that you look around for a more traditional onsen, but this one is okay if you don't have other choices. I liked the bath with the local volcanic waters. There is a nice footbath in...

Family of 4 stayed here in July 2014. Had a very enjoyable stay. Service was excellent including guide to our room, tea service, in room dining and then breakfast in the public space. Staff showed a genuine interest in getting to know us. We were able to speak Japanese with them. The front desk staff seemed to have English skills...
