We selected this hotel based solely on location because dragging baggage around town can be trouble. This hotel is connected to the train station but you would never know it, it’s so quiet! The hotel itself is nice and clean. The rooms are outdated but clean. Typical hard Japanese bed. But the location just can’t be beat. Literally go down the elevator and the Shinkansen is right there, around the corner are the JR lines and through the terminal is the street car.
Located directly next to Horoshima station,Hotel Granvia Hiroshima is very convenient for business trip and sightseeing.Rooms are clean and designed by very nice &neat Maruni furnitures which made from wood.Worthy for all travalers.
A mere 3/4 minutes walk from the Main Station into which we came by Bullet Train ex-Tokyo (Shinjuku). Sadly our luggage came by vehicle and due to the flooding caused by Hagibis arrived a day late. Reception was dominated (&I mean dominated) by a Halloween Display, and so Americana-esque, which bearing in mind where we were seemed plain wierd. Everything about the Hotel was fine - Rooms, Breakfast, Bar (such as it was) - but nothing remarkable or Special, except the Gym, which was off-limits to Guests and run as a Private Health Club. Hotel's location was very good. Very Central. Good Public Transport links all over town and the area. Ir was particularly good for Train Spotters due to being able to watch Bullet Trains and the like come in/out of the Station. We particularly like the sub-terrainean walkways beneath the Streets where a veritable rabbit warren of tunnels existed with a plethora of Shops & Restaurants. Good Map & sense of Direction proved crucial.…
Knew of the hotel and was choice for location (and our JR pass, though no discounts). Is a bit dated, but has that "atmosphere" of Japan in the 1980's. Great staff and facilities, only BAD thing was the bar on ground floor accepted smokers (can be usual in Japanese cafes too), so we we didn't stay long. Had a fantastic dinner in the hotel's Japanese restaurant (see photo) and another night, we did drinks in their top floor bar (has a restaurant too). This hotel has the ABC (for Ozzie travelers) news channel and was beneficial to us getting status and up-dates during the virus exercise.
The location is steps away from the entrance to the train/shinkansen station, and also where you can pick up the bus and trolley into the city. The rooms were comfortable, and nice bathroom amenities. It was nice they provided 2 types of pillows, a feather and foam pillow. But the foam pillow and bed were quite firm, as you will find throughout Japan. All Japanese beds are too firm for many Western travelers. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel, which was nice. The lobby bar had an impressive cocktail selection, but since it allows smoking (as most Japanese bars do), we didn't stay long. The service at check-in and the information area was outstanding. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if we get to return to Hiroshima.
We spent 2 nights in a standard twin room, traveled to other parts of Japan, returned and spent the last night in a standard small double room (the price is a lot higher for Saturdays). The hotel is right next to Hiroshima station, near the street cars, near the bus station for the airport bus and sightseeing buses, and near restaurants and convenience stalls (7-11, Lawson's). It is so accessible and so convenient that we love it! They provide good quality amenities and 2 bottles of water daily. The standard twin room, at 26m² is definitely very comfortable for 2, with lots of space for luggage and room to move about. The standard small room, at 18m², is compact but still meets all needs and expectations. I would definitely return to this hotel for my future visits!
Excellent location directly outside Hiroshima Station and easy access to sightseeing bus stops, free to use for JR pass holders. Friendly, helpful reception staff. Rooms are a decent size with comfortable beds and great views over city & mountains. We liked that we could get an English news channel too. Excellent value for money and great base when staying in Hiroshima.
We stayed in this hotel for one night only while transiting between Fukuoka and Kobe. We booked this hotel due to its location and their offered room rate. 1. Location: It's located next to Hiroshima station. It's also close to the Meipuru-pu bus stop (a sightseeing bus). Last but not the least, there are a lot eateries nearby. 2. Room: The room is quite compact. By the time we checked in, we got a room upgrade. Thanks to the hotel. And It also has an amazing view to the train station and its surrounding. 3. Check-in/out: Pretty straightforward and easy. Since we came too early, we had to drop our luggages at the concierge. Amazingly, the staff delivered the luggages to our room even before we returned to the hotel. We surely will come back to this hotel for our next trip to Hiroshima.…
As most travellers would arrive in Hiroshima via shinkansen, it is a brief walk to this hotel. Likewise adjacent to the hotel is the bust station where you can choose between 3 different tourist shuttle buses which take you around various landmarks of Hiroshima. The room was large and comfortable and as seems to be the norm for most hotels we stayed in Japan, the front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The major plus of this hotel is its location. It's pretty much attached to the main train station. You can literally get off the train, then drop your bags and explore. Also right by the hotel is a tourist shuttl. bus which stops at all the main sites around round. This bus is free if you have a JR Pass. The hotel itself is modern and clean. My room wasn't huge but it also wasn't tiny. Wifi was fast and we could connect multiple devices. I recommend the Granvia.
