Hotel Gracery Sapporo
Rating: ️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5⭐️highest score)
Address: Chuo-ku Kita 4-jo Nishi 4-1, 060-0004, Chuo-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido, Japan
Room type: Single room
Price per person: ~$350

The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is directly opposite JR Sapporo Station and just across the road. You don’t want to cross the road. In fact, there is an underground passage from the exit of JR Sapporo Station to the hotel, which is only about 5 minutes away. Yes, but there are a few stairs along the way, so you need to carry your luggage.

The hotel seemed to be newly renovated, with a bright appearance and all glass walls. There was a cafe downstairs, which should have provided sashimi breakfast, but I was in a hurry the next day and didn't have time to taste it. When you enter the lobby, you can see that there are washing supplies available for free. They smell fragrant and are very useful. Check-in is also very fast. The basic facilities in the room are also available. What I appreciate most is that there is an iPhone charging cable beside the bed. The design is clever and practical. . However, the space in the room is relatively small, and it is difficult to open luggage. The toilet is quite large, and there is a bathtub for bathing. Unfortunately, the room given to me faces the inner courtyard and has no view. This is a bit disappointing, but the room price is ~$350 per night, which is also Affordable.

Location of the hotel is excellent being directly connected to the main Sapporo Station. The hotel lifts are connected to the underground shopping streets which means we didn't need to venture outside in the cold to get back to our room.

The room was small but expected for Japanese hotel room standard.
The bed was comfortable.
The room was mainly clean but the toilet didn't seem to have been properly wiped down after the departure of the last occupants.

Staff are very helpful and courteous to guests.
Special mention to concierge staff, Hoshikawa san and front desk staff, Yamaji san. They have been a great help to minimize my travel difficulties arising from a sudden flight cancellation due to the Covid-19 virus situation in Hokkaido.
Room is excellent and comfortable and always clean. My appreciation to the housekeeping staff.

It's conveniently located in front of Sapporo Station, but the rooms are a bit disappointing.

The unit bath smelled like a toilet and seemed not to have been cleaned properly. There was dust in the corners of the room and the mirror was dirty.

The location of the refrigerator was also awkward and the table was small and not functional.

The value for money was also poor, and I couldn't find any good points other than the location. Considering that the location is good as long as you pay, it seemed like the management had put in zero effort.

I wish they would at least do a better job of cleaning it; a smelly toilet in a hotel is a turn-off.

It is conveniently located right after exiting Sapporo Station, so it can't be better. It is connected directly to the underpass, so it must be nice in rain or snow. The room is very clean. There is also a small lounge and a room where you can leave your carts and other items, so you don't have to worry about meeting people.

Good point
It was a smoking room, but the smell didn't bother me at all.
There's a water dispenser in the hallway.
There is free coffee and ice cream in the lounge and it is quiet so you can work on your computer.
Good location in front of Sapporo station.
The seafood bowl I made myself for breakfast was pretty good.
There is a cloakroom where you can leave your luggage before check-in and after Check-out.
The front desk is kind.

Not so good.
The tub and toilet are small together.

Total
Everything was good except the bath.
There is a direct underground connection to Sapporo Station, but if you go underground you get lost. Much easier from the ground.
I want to go to another hotel.

I traveled to Sapporo with my college aged son. Location location location, right across from Sapporo JR station, tons of shopping and eating nearby. Take the elevator to basement level directly from the hotel, there is an underground shopping center and food street. In Hokkaido, you do not need to walk outside in the winter. Everything is underground. The room is small and smells of smoke. But since this was during Japanese school vacation, the hotel is packed with Japanese students on athletic trips. There is no free breakfast. Breakfast buffet is on the ground floor with a fee. But you do not need it since you are surrounded by other choices.

Location is great! You can get to this hotel all underground. Land in New Chitose Airport, take a train to Sapporo Station and go straight into the hotel. Sapporo station has all the food and shopping you need.

Service is excellent! Big smiles, very prompt, checking-in luggage, all perfect! Room was hot and they brought a fan to the room within minutes.

Hotel is older. Booked a standard twin (~$60/night). The hotel looked very modern from the outside so I booked it thinking it was remodeled. The rooms are older and the internet (even when it wasn't packed) was slow. I got an unstable 20mbps connection. Used my pocket wifi instead.

Air Conditioning was shut off for some reason. It was hot inside the room. You can't open the window so, we felt trapped. They gave us a fan to use which worked, but dried us up.

No views. We booked a twin size room but there was no view.

It's overall not a bad hotel. It was quiet, workers were efficient, and the location was great. We got a twin size for the space, but it still felt small and stuffy from the lack of AC. I would try elsewhere next time.

Ideal hotel for a required city stopover when heading to the ski field. Easy bus connection from Chitose Airport both domestic and international terminals. Central location in Sapporo city to trains, underground, restaurants, bookshop for city winter exploring. Free bus to Rusutsu Ski Resort right outside and close to Niseko Bus. We do 2 nights in and out for our snowboarding trips for city exploring and this is the hotel for this. Rooms compact but comfortable, check in and checkout easy. Highly recommended

This is my second time here, and it was just as good as the last time.
Personally, I really liked the shampoo and treatment, which went well together.
I wish the desk in the room was a little bigger, but I think it's enough for people who are traveling.

I suppose you can ask the hotel if you give them plenty of notice (and if your stay include breakfast). Otherwise you can buy bento box at the train station

Not sure if anyone answered this, the rooms are reasonable if you are both petite sized, but I would definitely recommend a small twin instead.
