This place somehow manages to have the food, easily Michelin star quality that I would happily pay $100 for with some of the best bites I've had in a 3 week East Asia trip, be the least impressive part of the experience. Massive and comfortable rooms, beautiful scenery, and the nicest staff you can imagine make this ryokan an unforgettable experience. I'm in the room now, regretting that I only booked two nights here, and already thinking how I can justify a trip back next year despite living halfway around the world.

Thank you very much for choosing Kasho Gyoen. How was your three-week trip to East Asia? Thank you very much for choosing Kasho Gyoen out of so many hotels. We are very happy that Kasho Gyoen was such a memorable experience for you. Dinner at Kasho Gyoen is an Italian course meal, and we are very particular about the ingredients as well as the presentation, and we are proud to offer the most delicious ingredients of the day, cooked to perfection. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. As a small inn with a total of 23 rooms, we will make every effort to be close to each and every one of our guests and to provide them with a ‘hospitality’ and a special experience that can only be experienced at Kasho Gyoen. Although it is a long way away, we hope that you will stop by our hotel again when you come to Jozankei in Hokkaido. We look forward to welcoming you next year and seeing you again.

The location is further away from the touristy area of Jozankei proper and you get unobstructed mountain views, natural landscapes, and complete privacy and isolation from the daily hustle bustle and reality. The staff and service are extraordinary and the food was unique, creative, and deliciously blended all of Hokkaido’s best ingredients. I availed of the facial spa treatment in their beauty salon and my stay was made more relaxing and peaceful with the private onsen in my room. Truly unforgettable.

This time, I rented the hotel exclusively for myself and a friend. We were able to use the restaurant as a private space, so we were able to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about other guests. All the rooms had their own hot springs, and the view of the virgin forest from the window was amazing. It was a truly soothing view.
The staff were all kind and very pleasant, and their service conveyed how much they cared for us.
The Italian course meal prepared by the chef was also delicious. We were able to spend a luxurious time having the entire hotel to ourselves. Thank you for a wonderful time.

I was very satisfied with the hospitality of the staff. Although my stay was short, I was able to really relax. The view from the room was amazing and I was very satisfied with the calming room. Although there was no large public bath, I ended up bathing in it several times. The Italian food for dinner was perfect in terms of taste, quantity, appearance, and the timing of serving. For breakfast, there were many side dishes to go with the rice, so I was able to enjoy a variety of flavors. Thank you for such a wonderful time. I will definitely come again!!

Beautiful Botique Ryokan. Very helpful and hard working staff. Since we are vegetarians (eggitarian), and had informed the hotel prior to our visit - the Chef prepared delicious vegetarian Italian meals for us. The personal care taken by the staff and the Chefs was delightful. The onsen (hot water spring) in the rooms was so refreshing. We loved our stay at this property.

My son and his wife invited me to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and my recovery. It was a place I'd always wanted to visit, and we were able to relax in all suites with baths that flowed directly from the hot spring. The service was also great, and the Myanmar native who served us at meals had a lovely smile and you could tell he was trying his best, which really warmed my heart. The full-course Italian dinner and Japanese breakfast were all delicious. We were able to see the vestiges of cherry blossoms from our room with a balcony, so it was a very satisfying trip.

I chose this hotel because everyone's reviews were very good. It was the right choice! The staff, the room, the hot springs, and the food were all satisfactory. Moreover, the price was attractive for this level. The foreign staff are all young, but I was glad to see them working hard to learn hospitality. The Bluetooth speaker was also good. The young proprietress is still young, so I have high hopes and expectations that she will continue to improve. The only thing that surprised me was that the red wine was too chilled. I heard that they do wine pairings, but even in the heat of the day, this ruined the delicious food. One more thing, I would like them to allow us to choose a menu with smaller portions for elderly people like us. They asked us to leave some food, but I think this is also in terms of the SDGs. I don't mind the price being the same. It was a very good memory. Thank you very much! I would definitely like to visit again.

This ryokan is off of Sapporo and is about 1 hour out from the core of the city.
Situated on the side of the freeway, you’ll enter through a heated driveway into an unexpected property that is unassuming, unnoticeable and unpretentious.
The foyer has an indoor freestanding chimney with a large seating area that serves onigiri (rice balls), miso soup, Burdock tea, sweet potato, and other snacks from dinner to late in the evening.
Meals are served in the one restaurant on the property that serves traditional kaiseki breakfasts, and fusion Italian Japanese dinners. Attentive staff is eager to please with a large open kitchen and glass walls to look out into the property garden. The fusion is daring and pairing is well thought out, and when they decide to choose higher quality ingredients, will the dinners start receiving higher reviews.
Rooms each have a private onsen, living room and bedroom. Quite spacious compared to many other ryokan’s with generous amenities provided such as free drinks, pop, juice, water, coffee, etc.
Overall a great place to stay and while their food is a little high on sodium, and their staff need a bit more training, you have to give this property some time considering it opened in mid-2018. Great value and very caring and nice staff.

I chose this place because I always pass by it. The staff were very nice, especially the woman who seemed to be in charge of the inn. The way they interacted with me, with small conversations, made it feel like I was on a trip. It was an extraordinary experience. Some of the staff were foreigners, and they were very kind and I felt comfortable there. They worked so hard that it made me want to try my best again tomorrow. I would like to use this place again, and next time I'd like to come in the summer.

I met a guy names Ou. He was soooo good and enthusiasm. He did almost every duty in the hotel such as greeting us when we arrived then show us the room and take us to the dinner then serve us the dinner and find us a taxi as well. Pleaseee raise him a salary or give him a promotion. And also the hotel is sooo good and warm place. I will be come back soon. :)

Thank you very much for using Kasho Gyoen. Thank you very much for your lovely message to our staff. Wang, a staff member at our hotel, is a very talented staff member. Besides, he is the chief. In addition, our hotel does not operate in sections like a typical hotel. All of the staff working at Kasho Gyoen, including staff member Wang, operate a multitasking work style that allows everyone to carry out a series of tasks at the hotel, including greeting guests, providing room guidance, dinner and breakfast services, seeing guests off, and cleaning guest rooms. I am. Even at Kasho Gyoen, a small inn with 23 rooms. We are proud that this multi-tasking way of working is a revolutionary way to provide better service to everyone who visits our facility. In addition, even though we work in the service industry, we do not have to be tied down for long periods of time, we work in a 3-day work schedule followed by 1 day off, and our pay is within the normal standard. We have introduced a system that reflects this. We are proud of the fact that all of our staff members, including Mr. Wang, have worked hard and been praised by our guests, and it makes us truly happy. I value these staff members, and I will work hard every day to provide services that satisfy our customers. We would be very happy if this stay was one of your wonderful memories. Also, please stop by when you come to Jozankei. Wang and all of our staff are looking forward to seeing you again. Kasho Gyoen Manager
