The good: we only stayed 2 nights. The not so good: Check-in took forever. No English was spoken. Regrettably, I paid for our rooms before we saw them. They were on the 5th floor which had a foul cigarette smoke odour - probably from the smoking floor below. The bed had a great big thick quilt, and housekeeping had no alternatives, for the middle of summer. There’s no flat sheet. The list goes on. The tired and scuffed decor, the dark walls in the corridors, the poor recommendation and directions for dinner at a location that could not be found, and the fact that the lift still stops at level 2, for no reason, an irritation which has been highlighted by other guests, over the years. The breakfast was way overpriced but the most disappointing aspect of the stay was that I chose the hotel because it had a restaurant, and the restaurant was never open for dinner. A poor show for a supposedly 4 star hotel. I won’t be returning.…

Hotel's Favorite
Centrally located, 350 meters to Sapporo Station. Sapporo Clock Tower is a just a block away and lots of shopping and dining options. Staff are all accommodating and always smiling. The room is of typical Japanese size but I love how practical the toilet set up is - shower and washroom os separate from the toilet. Housekeeping is superb as well, clean sheets everyday. Most of all I love the crisp, refreshing scent of the hotel. Highly recommended and I will definitely come back.

We are currently staying at Cross Hotel Sapporo (July 2-7.2023). I am writing this review out of amazement for excellent accommodation we experienced in Cross Hotel Sapporo. It is located a 10 min walk to the JR station. Lawson and Family mart nearby as well as a lot of good restaurants. Suzuki no is a 15 min walk away. Location is in a quiet and safe are. The reception staff are kind. Communication is not difficult for they use a translator to facilitate communication. Special thanks to Ms Miki Takahashi who was bale to find us a good private tour to Furano/Biei at last minute notice. The beds are comfortable. Bed sheets and amenities excellent. I love their luxurious bath amenities Provinscia. Cross hotel housekeeping staff is excellent in keeping the hotel in tip top cleanliness. Indeed such hospitality is a show case of Japanese culture. Our seamless stay in the hotel made us enjoy our Sapporo vacation and made us fall in love with the Japanese culture even more. Thank you to the stars of the Cross Hotel Sapporo. I stayed at this western-style hotel with typically small rooms in December. It’s nicely located halfway between the JR station and Odori subway stations. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and there are also one of each major convenience store chains too. You won’t get hungry. The staff didn’t speak much English, but I was able to get a few restaurant recommendations (although they turned out to be chains). Food was still good. The hotel appears to be new. The lobby and lounge were spotless and showed very little sign of wear and tear. My room was large enough, but I didn’t spend much time there. Instead, I relaxed in lounge on the top floor and taking multiple baths. The public bath is next to the lounge.

We highly appreciate the cross hotel in Kyoto and that led us to choose the same hotel in Sapporo. BUT…. it was a real disappointment. The big disappointment first and for most is the breakfast. Unbelievable… we came more than one hour before the ending time of breakfast. (Before 09:00 o’clock) there was almost nothing to eat. Everything was empty. You would expect the employees to bring more food from the kitchen but instead they were busy cleaning as if they are about to close the restaurant. We were two, we put our bags and coats on the chairs and I called one of the waitresses and ask her for at least some forks and knives etc… she “did us a favor” and brought a set for one person… really? Are we expected to share the one fork and knife that you gave us?… The yogurt left over that was there, looked and felt so liquid and tasteless like water.,, And more and more can be said about the breakfast. As for the amenities for the bathroom or the Onsen: they are being kept near the reception as if they are watching what you’ll take. Nothing of those items are being put in the room’s bathroom so you skyways need to go to the reception to take them. I would e Think that a 4 star hotel will be more generous. Last but not least; the location. We thought it would make sense to be near the Sapporo station but we found ourselves most of the time spending in the area of the Odori park and south of there. So actually it would make much more sense getting an hotel closer to the Odori part or south of it. One other thing to add: the elevators are extremely slow. Good that they have chairs near the elevators so that you can sit and wait for them. So all in all, we expect much much more from a four star hotel. (Like cross hotel in Kyoto for example)…

This is a lovely Japanese style hotel only about five minutes or so walk from the main JR Sapporo railway station. The hotel is clean and the breakfasts were good, it also has separate male and female onsen/baths, which is a great way to relax. Very nice hotel to stay at if you are planning to visit Sapporo in the future, and I would certainly recommend it.

Cross Hotel is in a great location, and is a beautifully designed comfortable city hotel. Traveled as a couple and would stay here again. The rooms are on the small side, but that's nothing new in Japan of course. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the hotel is very clean. We didn't eat at the hotel, as given its location there are plenty of places nearby to try for food and drink. Would recommend staying here for a short city break - it has all you need.

Cross hotel was our first stop of our 10 day Hokkaido trip. Chose it mainly due to location as it’s just a short 7-8 mins walk from Sapporo Station. Check in was a breeze and room was ready when we were there at 2pm. We booked the deluxe twin room which comes with a sofa bed. Room is a little tight typical of Japanese hotel but sufficient for our family of 4. What I love most about the room was the coffee grinder and coffee beans! I’m a coffee addict so grinding and brewing your own coffee every morning is a good wake me up. Onsen is on the top floor, not huge but good size, outdoor is just a small pool. Vanity area is equipped with Dyson hair dryer! Breakfast was optional and we didn’t opt for it since there’s plenty of choices around. The yakitori restaurant just outside the hotel is a must try! Reasonably priced and super yummy! Be prepared to wait though, limited seats inside. Very pleasant stay overall.…

We spent 2 nights here for the snow festival. A lovely stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. As with all foreign countries, language can be fun but they try to help as much as possible just like I always find the Japanese, so wiling to help tourists. The onsen is great and the view amazing particularly if snowing as it has an outside open roof. The cross, higher floors are great (roomy by Japanese standards) and we enjoyed the free bar at 4pm before venturing out for dinner. A great location and close to everything. If looking for any ski gear we found the Sapporo Factory which is only a 10 min walk and a great selection of outdoor gear.

Recently stayed 5 nights at this hotel and second time in a Cross brand hotel. Whole experience was seamless and efficient. Extra benefits as Hotels.com Silver member. Staff can speak English and will try their best to help even if challenging to find the right words. The staff member who served us at check in was very friendly and greeted us daily when she is on duty. Free Happy Hours Drinks and Onsen is a ++ Would definitely go with a Cross Branded Hotel in the future.
