The hotel comprised of 3 separate buildings and renovation works were going on at the time of our visit for the coming G20 function in September this year. The rooms were clean with traditional Chinese decoration. Breakfast buffet was OK but crowded with too many guests. The hotel has its own boat for an one hour trip in Xihu but... More

The hotel itself is nice and is where the Chinese leadership go to when they go to Hangzhou (there are numerous pictures on the wall) but it's old and a 2 star by western standards yet it gets the job done and is the best decent hotel close to the west lake area where you want to be

Traveling in China gives you plenty of chance to get into the "wrong hotel". I chose this property due to the location, it is an "old" Government hotel. There should have been a warning there, BUT the property is very clean, the staff are excellent, the room was extremely tidy, yes and a SOFT bed, remembering this is a "OLD"... More

You could be forgiven for thinking it's all about the Dahua's location right beside the scenic West Lake in Huangzhou. Yet on top of this here is a hotel with nice rooms, impeccable service and beautiful grounds. I wouldn't think you'd find a better place to stay in the city for convenience and comfort. The only slight downside was a... More

We stay at this hotel for 3 days. The location is good, just nearby the lake. If wondering traveling by bus, there's a bus station nearby. It's pretty convenient. The room was classic and clean, you can enjoy the old Chinese style. The breakfast is buffet, offering many kinds of Chinese food. Just sitting down and have a great lake... More

Husband and myself stayed here for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Situated on the West Lake, it is set in a very tranquil area and the hotel is split into sections. We stayed in the North building which was quiet and we could catch a glimpse of the lake (and the air conditioning... More

We stayed in Hangzhou at the west lake for a weekend. The reception in the hotel was really nice, so was the staff. The location is excellent, right at the lake. However, even though the room was clean, the view was horrible - 80% of our window was taken up by wall and electrical wires. Not what we expected. The... More

This is a historic hotel with many president, include US president. Not quite a beautiful hotel from the exterior, but the close location to the west lake (actually it is in the west lake, east bank) makes it's atmosphere is calming and very relaxing. Early morning, sitting on the bench at backyard, with a view of willow trees lining the... More

Excellent historical hotel located in a beautiful garden directly on the lake and at walking distance of the Ginghefang pedestrian street. Helpful staff some speaking a decent English. The Wi-Fi in the room (only after asking, but free) and in the lobby was very good. The included BF is very high quality, with new assortments every day (I stay 5... More

My husband and I just returned from China and stayed at Dahua Hotel on 3/27. We highly recommend this place. Here is an overview of our thoughts... LOCATION: The location is PERFECTION! This hotel is one of the few hotels situated AT the lake. From a bench outside of the hotel you can see the lake and watch the hustle... More
