Well what a beautiful sanctuary. We often sneak away from Shanghai for the weekend to Hangzhou and stay on the West Lake with our children. Our stay this time we were on our own however have both decided we would love to bring back the children in summer. The service has been warm and friendly with all staff speaking English...

Two of our friends told us The Steamed room is a must so even the price per head is excessive ( about USD100 / person for a group of 14 visitors ); we decided to give it a go. Well, food is good but totally overpriced ( but this is Aman ) and as usual; local staff do not know...

The idea behind this Amanresort is quite challenging and was carried out in an Aman-like quality. However, it's certainly not really what one expects from an Amanresort, since the the public is permitted to wander through the resort, so that you'll never feel "aman"-ful. In addition, Hangzhou's main attraction, West Lake, is far out of sight and can only be...

My family with 4 toddlers stayed in a deluxe village suite for 2 nights. We were cared for from the moment of booking until check-out with attentive service. This included going the extra mile by lending us a mobile phone to keep in touch with the hotel when out in town and a lap-top when we had internet issues. The...

We were shown around this unusual hotel, where the guest rooms are constructed from the village houses, before eating at one of the restaurants. The food was superb and the ambiance was great, even though we almost had the place to ourselves (just one other couple). Highly recommended, but beware the mosquitoes. MLS

Amanfayun is the original China experience. An old Buddhist village (which still looks the same !) renovated inside with the minimalist Aman style. Very quiet, beautiful surroundings, monks walking by, many food choices, all good and a sanctuary in the middle of China. An amazing place, we will try to return more often.

There are plenty of reasons to recommend this property but a few glitches got in the way from total enjoyment. First, I must say that the location and grounds of Amanfayun are worth a stay despite some of the flaws in the rooms. You will feel like you are in an ancient village with beauty all around you, wrapping you...

A switch of tempo from Shanghai. The property itself retains and preserves ancient tea village life; with villas dotted on both sides of the main pathway. Our duplex village villa was generous in space, equipped with modern conveniences and contemporary furniture with Chinese accents. Interior wise, it was a little to dimly lit for my preference. Was told it was...

It made me feel so relaxed and I really hated to leave this resort after 2-day living. Amanfayun Hangzhou has been renowned among the buddhists in Hangzhou and from other countries. Quiet and religious atmosphere are the key factors that drew me to the hidden paradise just near Lingyin Temple. You can see exclusive architectural rooms and winding paths in...

We spent 2 nights at the Village suite #18 for Valentine's getaway. The layout of the village from dynasty Song was well-preserved, the interior was nicely decorated without losing the authenticity. We were greeted by the GM upon arrival and welcomed with roses and red wine in the room. The hotel village is relatively un-spoilt despite being surrounded by hugely...
