This Hotel is now known as Goo Hotel - don't expect luxury for this hotel's room when you are only paying around A$27/night. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Staffs ( younger man ) can speak a bit of English. Owner can pick you up at the airport if you can and make arrangement. Charging 50¥ per person for a group of 4. The huge plus is it's location - within minutes to pedestrian walkway and plenty of restaurants around. Walking distance of about 10-15mins to the night scenic river walks and to see the Sun & Moon Pagodas. Guilin city is very pretty at night with the lightings surrounding the area. Wish the Chinese Government would put a No Smoking ban inside restaurants & public places. The air is bad enough let alone with cigarettes smoke everywhere you go. Just cannot get away from it.

Low price but you get what you paid for. This place is also known as Goo hotel guilin Dong Xi Gang She travel hotel. Very good location in the central. Walking distance to shopping and food eatery. Hotel was opened 2 years ago. The owner decorated the place ancient Chinese style. We book the room for family suite. 2 bedroom with 1 queen bed and 2 twins. The twin beds were hard. The queen bed spring was so bad, you can hear cracking sound. Everything is chargeable including mineral water, herbal tea and condoms. Bad for my kids to see that. Bathroom jet spa is for show only, not functioning. Bathroom amenties is bare to the basic petite packets of shampoo, bath gel and tiny soap. What a joke. Ridiculous pricing for breakfast which needs pre order. Western style breakfast is CNY 60 per person, eastern style CNY 25 per person.

We originally stayed for 4 nights and subsequently return for another 5 nights. The owner is very friendly, speaks English and encourages his staff to conduct themselves in English whenever conversing with us. Rooms are good value for the prices we paid. They are clean, comfortable. We were surprised to find even hair dryer in the room, use of washing machine, all complimentary which was great and a luxury as we had been travelling around China for many weeks. The hotel is very centrally located within the Walking Pedestrain Street just 200 meters from our hotel, shopping and food outlets all conveniently around this hotel. The staff and owner made us feel very welcome during our entire stay. This hotel will be strongly recommended to our friends and we will certainly return!
