This was a superb hostel, and far exceeded our expectations. The location is superb, a couple of minutes walk to the main pedestrian street, across the road is a great food market and various restaurants at your fingertips, couple of minutes walk to river, 5 minutes to the lake, the rooms were clean, modern and quiet, we had a twin private room with private bathroom, there is shower gel, shampoo, kettle and european plug sockets, our room was on the second floor, but only 20 stairs up to it and the staff took our cases up for us. The beds were sooooo comfy. There is card entry to access the stairs and also a drawer in room with a lock on for valuables. The cafe downstairs was great and did superb breakfasts and coffees, there is a bar with drinks too. Staff are super friendly, great english and helped with directions to get a bus to daxu, which was very easy. they also got us tickets to the river and lake cruise. Wifi is good. The hostel also organised a taxi to collect us from airport and a taxi to yangshuo. Highly reccomend this hostel. I stayed with my 80 year old mother on our trip round china

My husband and I travelled around China for a month and this was our favourite hostel! All the front desk staff were amazing, everyone we spoke to had an answer to all of our questions, they were so helpful. Our room was large and clean, the air conditioner was such a relief. There are free washing machines to use and tons of space under a roof on the top floor to hang clothes. We read other reviews saying the tours offered were pricey, but we thought they were worth the money. We booked the boat tour for a Friday and realized it would be better to do it Saturday and the staff helped us change it and gave us all the bus information in regards to returning. There is a menu of western food such as sandwiches and pizza. We liked the pancake breakfast and enjoyed Chinese restaurants the staff suggested in the evenings. You do have to try the French fries though- they are amazing!

This hostel has very nice dorm rooms - very spacious, big beds, nice linen, clean and with two lockers per bunk! The hostel is very well located for exploring Guilin. We did the rice terraces day trip which was organised by the hostel (a bit expensive but enjoyable).

Great location. We took a taxi to get there, might be tricky finding it with the bus the first time. Food options around the hostel are good. Great Indian place right next door. I stayed in the 4 person dorms. Curtains around the bed. Bathroom in the room. Small storage space with keys.
