Ok, so I guess there is a climate issue in Guilin, but this hotel was impressively damp. Oddly the only thing that wasn't full of water was the outdoor mid roof level pool. I think it may have been having a refit, but even so the entry along dusty, dirty service corridors did little to inspire. Probably as well, since... More

We stayed here for two nights on our travels through Russia,China and Mongolia. It is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in so far. As mentioned by other reviewers, the only good thing is it's location. I appreciate that the hotel is undergoing renovation, but the lobby, breakfast area and rooms were very cold. The heating in our... More

Not sure why people are complaining so much about this hotel. Maybe we were just lucky.....When we visited, the lobby was bright and airy, rooms were a decent size and clean, bathroom a good size with just enough toiletries for both of us (which were also topped up daily), bed linen was clean with no holes (but yes it was... We stayed here as part of a small group tour. Definitely not a hotel we would have chosen otherwise. The 11th floor room was tatty, with patches of damp on the walls, bathroom rather dated and nothing included except 2 x 10ml sachets each of shampoo and a small soap. No tea, no bottles of water. Only quarter of a... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night and that was one night too many. To be honest I wasn't expecting much as I knew it wasn't 5 star but I was still disappointed. The moment I walked in I felt depressed. It was dark, dingy and smelt musty. The hotel staff was unwelcoming and unfriendly. Not rude but no... More

If you get a chance to avoid this hotel please do. The rooms are worn out and smell of damp and mould. The so called mattresses could probably be used for construction as they were hard as bricks. The breakfast was forgetful. Overall a very bad experience. Attached some pics for you to see

Stayed a while ago on a Wendy Wu tour. The hotel is situated in a good area. You can have a pleasant stroll by the river. While our room was tired, the view compensated for that. I see negative comments about staff not speaking English. I guess Chinese tourists would experience far greater problems visiting the UK.

I stayed here September 2010 3 nights as part of a prepaid tour of 4 cities. Guilin is a charming small city surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Hotel is centrally located with plenty of shopping nearby. This was such a step up from the horrible Melody Hotel in Xi'an that it felt almost luxurious by comparison but it is a basic... More

Disappointing that On the Go Tours should choose this rather shabby hotel which has had its day. The location and view from our room was good. Other than that, the hotel and room including furniture was very old and carpets very stained. the breakfast was served to us in a huge cold and impersonal open-plan restaurant without given a choice...
