Beautiful hotel next to the Pearl River. Impeccable service from Horizon Floor Lounge. Staff are hospitable and make you feel at home. Breakfast at the Horizon Lounge is more than sufficient. The hotel room is big and comfortable. Will return again.

As usual a wonderful trip. The staff, particuarly Wing, Jocelyn and all the other staff in the club lounge made us feel very welcome.
The hotel was extremely busy, busier than we have ever seen it but the staff worked well to make the experience comfortable as ever.

This time we stayed in the Super Wings suite - highly recommeded to anyone travelling with small kids. The living room was filled with toys and a tent and superwings touches were added into the bedroom and bathroom too. My daughter loved it!

As the border gate is still closed, spent 3 days getaway from work visiting friends in Guangzhou. Shangri-La is still my first choice in Guangzhou, the staff are very friendly and check in was very smooth at the Horizon Club Lounge.
The room is very clean with my preferences set up upon my arrival, the housekeeping team is very professional. Had enjoyed the Chi Spa this time, the 60 mins massage promotion worth a try with premium selection of aroma oil.
For sure will be back next month!

This is my return visit to Shangri-La hotel, thank you for Guest Relations ManagerChloe and Housekeeping colleague Tam Lai Ming & Jun Hong for remembering my room preference. I feel like retuning home and the room cleanliness is very good.

The set lunch in Nadaman is super worthy, they have sushi, tempera & udon with very reasonable price and top quality. I can temporarily soothe my home sick to Japan.

Looking forward to be back soon!

We had high expectations staying at the Shangri La Guangzhou, after receiving recommendations from other families to go here for a 'staycation'. Unfortunately, we were disappointed and will definitely not be staying here again.

First of all, we do not believe this is a child friendly experience. We thought that because there was a kids "summer camp" on offer, this may be the case. However, my 6yo was not interested in the activities at all and the golf course is not at all appealing for children. There is a lady in the foyer dressed in a Disney outfit offering painting activities for kids to create the pretense of this hotel being child friendly, but ordinary staff were rude to us and our children. For example, my 2yo son was engaging with another family on another table. He left our table and was standing next to me, but we were promptly told to 'take care of our children' by staff. This is just one example of how small we were made to feel with our children there.

Again, related to customer service, we had an incident where we wanted to contact front desk in regards to an emergency. However, both the front desk and emergency number went unanswered. We were furious about this lack of service and physically went down to the front desk to complain, where we the representative just called various people to fact check what I said (as if I was lying) and said they were sorry and there would be an investigation.

Thirdly, while the outdoor facilities are lovely (pools etc), it was not relaxing. There are no chairs outdoor chairs for adults to sit near kids play ground. Also, there is construction happening next door, so it is impossible to truly relax while in the pools. In fact, we noticed that there was construction even happening at 2.30am.

Overall, not a pleasant experience, and we definitely would not recommend for others hoping to have a 'stay cation' at this time. We will be warning our friends and other expat families against this place.

From the moment we entered the hotel , the welcoming staff were extremely polite even though I did not any one to help with bags they insisted to help. At the receptin Priyanka, Christina, Allen, Gordon were nothing but professional and polite , We actually requested items for my daughter , they went out of their way to accomodate our request. Room was equipped with many items kids friendly. The view is awsome and bathroom had a shower and a spa. the outdoor area is a blessing as the kids could run supervised and unsupervised it is safe and kids could run freely , you could just go to the park and spend all your day there , lets not forget the pool area is amazing my daughter and wife loved it. the only remark i would suggest to the management is the Food selection at the restaurent needs to be improved to accomodate Halal menu or even chicken menu ( Chicken sausages for breakfast ) considering its near Canton fair they would have lots of guests that like to eat these things , apart from that i give 5/5 to this hotel and its management. Great effort.

We are right in the middle of our stay. Another wonderful, perfect stay!

The service is just perfect, every member of staff makes us all feel so welcome, in particular the staff on the club floor, Wing, Sherry, Nicole and Evelyn, but all other staff members as well!

I was utterly astonished to be presented with a (delicious) cake celebrating our anniversary (we celebrated our anniversary at this hotel 4 or 5 years ago, and they remembered the date - amazing :)

Everything else is just perfect, from our (huge) comfortable room, swimming pools and food.
As always this is my most highly recommended hotel, and I am looking forward to the next three days here!

Very rarely would I write a review of a hotel while I am still staying in but somehow I was compelled to comment on it on my 2nd night and looking at past reviews, the management probably would not even response and I will tell you why shortly.

As I have been on a 3 weeks business trips in China , I would usually send my laundry in and likewise I did so here . On the laundry sheet , it stated that it will be returned around 7 pm but I waited till almost 8:35 pm when I received a call explaining that while trying to remove stains from my polo t shirt, they have used bleach and that caused marks on the shirt that make it not wearable. I was happy that one of the associate Candy Weng came over to explain that while trying to remove the stain, they damaged my shirt. While I appreciated her efforts to explain and at the expense to find out how much the shirt cost, what put me off is that she did not state clearly how they can make up except to waive off the laundry bill for that day and then she offered me meals compensation. However, I said that I already had my meals and declined, mentioning I don’t even know if I will visit any of the restaurants for meals tomorrow . As I said she did not provide a clear solution but instead asked what I wanted putting me at a spot when I am already not happy that my newly purchase shirt is damaged . What was worse is that when I asked for the email of the GM, she mentioned I can send to guest service center as the GM will delegate the response giving me the impression the GM will not look into it.

While I knew such things does happen during laundry service but what they missed out crucially in the protocol which Wendy also admitted is to inform me of the stains and let me decide if I shall proceed to the wash or not!!

As I have said I was already disappointed that my new shirt got damage, the hotel was over zealous to ask what I wanted rather than how they can remedy the frustration .

Once again we are talking about Shangri La in this case and not any lower ranked hotel !

Dear The_TravellerSg,   Thank you for choosing Shangri-La Guangzhou and taking time to pen down your feedback with us. After the communication between you, our Resident Manager and myself, we realised the reason and apologise for the unpleasant experience during your stay. Please be assured that this is not our usual standard of service, which remains true to our beliefs of obsessing over customer experience with delivering heartfelt hospitality to our guest, creating moments of joy that truly matter. We take your feedback seriously and have shared it with laundry team. We will certainly enhance our colleagues training to ensure that our policies and service procedures are properly followed and implemented. Thank you for your comments, which will serve as an important reference for us to continue to provide excellent service to our guests in the future. Look forward to welcoming you back soon!   Vincent Thong General Manager

Our room is spacious and clean, beds are big and comfortable. Nice breakfast with lots of variety. The hotel staffs ( Lock Yuan from the pool and Crystal from SEA restaurants) and all the staffs are basically welcoming and helpful. We had a situation whereby our light in the room is faulty and it was 11pm during the night. The housekeeping send someone to sorted it out for us. It was all in all a pleasant staycation experience with Shangri-La Guangzhou and we look forward to come back again.

Housekeeper Mr/Miss Qin Li Ming left a very sweet note after replenishing our mineral water bottles , seeing that we had finished 2 bottles previously. The other staff and hotel receptionists are also proactive to help with any of our queries and pleasant to deal with. Thank you for the spectacular service! Beds are really comfortable too.

Our booking did not include breakfast , the first day of was approx $98 AUS for two ( very expensive) ( but beautiful - so much to choose from) Breakfast, you can purchase Al La Carte - but only after the rush time - by memory it worked out to approx $25pp We did find a Family Mart close by, if you go out the front gate, turn left, next door there is a bank, go through the building and you will see it on the left. If was very good for pre prepared food and snacks.
