I love this hotel! They have an impressive lobby and beautiful artwork. The rooms are beautiful and we found the prices extremely reasonable. We were able to find English speaking staff and everyone was very helpful.

The spa and bar are pricy but thats to be expected. I loved the breakfast buffet. They have so many options that you will be able to find many things that you will like. They have a little coffee stand in the lobby that has lots of things to drink and snack on. I wish they had some better prepared foods but I am being picky.

They are centrally located and right above a subway stop so you can get anywhere in the city pretty easily. Going across the street is a bit of a hike but the mall on the other side has a lot of nice stuff. It is also only a few blocks from a Muslim area with a lot of diversity and good restaurants.

Been staying at Garden cube 2008. Garden always been my firsts choice based on values derived from location, service, and rate. It is difficult to validate level of service without an abnormal incident. I neglectfully left my pouch containing passport in the room safe deposit, and only discovered right before checkin in at airport counter. Immediately I contacted Garden and lobby manager Mr. NEO arrange a staff from concierge to pickup and drop off for me at the airport. Eventually I still pick it up myself due inevitably missing my flight, nevertheless I would like to show my appreciation to Garden hotel making me a believer in value and service you offer your guests. Again I like to express my gratitude from your front desk, concierge, and last but certainly not least lobby manager Mr. NEO for easing this self inflicted unpleasant experience!

If there is anything, anyone, could have done to make my life comfortable at the hotel, YOU DID IT.

It was a complete blessing that I found you to help me with the reservation and I have to say, I was very pleased.

Your prompt email replies, sharing your mobile number for emergencies, getting the room I wanted, the special note in the reservation to take special care.. every detail well done.

Brian, I am going to come back and stay with your hotel again, that's for sure.

Not to mention getting me picked up rite off the aircraft... And having someone help me with my luggage and everything...

Make sure your bosses know about this note and I hope they appreciate your wonderful work.

I booked this hotel as the last leg of our holiday and to give my family a bit of 5 star service and luxury but what a mistake. WHen we arrived to check in the receptionist at first did not have my name until I provided her the confirmation email. She then scanned all of our passports (standard in China) even though I am settling both of the room bills. She then entered my credit card to the machine to take a deposit and I received confirmation from my bank. Then she says there is an error so asked me to take it again and enter my password (several times) so my card was blocked. The manager then came to help and mentioned that the particular card reader was giving problems the day before (so why did they not remove it). He eventually managed to get the two rooms booked but I had to use a different credit card. Finally after 35 minutes we went up to the rooms to find that housekeeping was still cleaning BOTH rooms. So finally fed up of this type of service we went back down to the manager and he said housekeeping had released the rooms. I had to confirm with the concierge that was bringing our bags that they were still being cleaned. The manager then arranged two different rooms on the same floor and offered us complimentary use of the club floor lounge due to this 1 hour checking in process. Finally we reached our rooms and my in-laws room smelled like an ash tray (actually the whole floor smelled of cigarettes) but by now everyone was fed up so we started to unpack. Fortunately for me I was wearing the in room slippers as I caught my foot on something on the wooden floors that cut a big gouge through the bottom of the slipper from front to back. There was a nail sticking out from the floorboards by about 3mm and I found another 2 nails in different locations.Imagine if this was my bare foot I would have had to have several stitches with the visit to a hospital, a ruined holiday as unable to walk, and the hotel would be facing legal action. The manager came up to see himself and then called the housekeeping manager as well as a maintenance guy who pulled the nail out and cut the heads of the other nails and covered them with insulation tape. I requested to see the general manager due to the seriousness but this was not entertained. Either the GM was not informed or did not deem this serious safety issue serious enough to get him/her self involved. the next day we were upgraded to a suite as "compensation" and my in-laws room "freshened up" from the cigarette smell.
As the Peach Blossom restaurant is quite famous for the dim sum we had lunch there the next day and the food was indeed fantastic. However, when the manager used a different terminal to check us in he put the room number under a different name so I was told I could not charge it to my room as I was not Chinese but the room name was. I explained that the name was my nephew who is 15 years old and cannot make any payment. Again I had to ask for the general manager, and again not entertained, until another manager came and settled it (another 35 minutes of my holiday wasted for a bill).
FInally some good news as I decided to check whether the rooms had been correctly assigned under my name so I did not waste any time during check out and jeopordise us missing our flights. This time I went to the executive floor where I was met by Esther who was excellent, as she listened fully to the full history in disbelief and then set about changing the rooms around so all were charged under my name and even arranged a check out then and there so I would not have to queue in the morning. Esther is the saving grace that moved this rating from terrible to poor but unfortunately I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone even though the location to the Metro station is literally outside (another reason for 2 star rating).

With innumerable hotels and differing levels of hotels/stays in Guangzhou, The Garden comes highly recommended as one of the best in the city.

The rooms are clean, quiet and well kept, in comparison to most other large chains.

Location is very good - food/bar options, access to parks and recreation and to the subway are excellent.

Most noted is Simon Lee, the Guest Services Manager - if you need anything, he will attend to your needs willingly. Hotel services such as laundry/dry-cleaning, restaurants,
are superior to the other hotels in the area.

Do consider this well run hotel on your next journey to Guangzhou.

funny you mentioned that because i understood they recently changed them. but the major trick is they have a comforter type underneath the sheets that gives the extra hugging feeling!!! love it !!!

I am afraid I am not sure but I see you have an answer now. The concierge are very helpful at this hotel and roads and traffic seem to be reasonable.

Our room has a proper bathroom with door. Please check with the hotel. I dislike the lack of privacy too.
