This is a simple and fairly pleasant hotel. The staff are friendly enough. My room was situated in a separate building behind the main reception and hotel. It was not dingy, and quite clean, although the carpets could do with changing. The hotel seems to share a space with a military/police academy, so I occasionally saw some cadets and there...

My friend looked it up while I was planning to spend at least 2 weeks in Guangzhou. Shamian Island is like an emerald and this hotel lies in the quiet heart of it, sheltered from the hectic traffic and city chaos.
