I booked this hotel because of the good average reviews. However, my own experiences were the worst I have ever had. The first thing I noticed was a very strong smell of chlorine in the bathroom. When this smell slowly vanished I realised the reason for using so much chlorine: the bathroom smelled terribly after canalisation. The cleaning was below average, was made just every third day. The breakfast was poor. Although advertised as a buffet, the choices were very limited and mostly carbs. There was an option to get a warm meal such as omelet though in addition to the "buffet". Although I booked this hotel for my entire stay, I left after the first terrible four days and eventually moved into another hotel of much better quality and more central location at a comparable cost. The only positive thing about 7 dorog was that I got my refund frictionless.…
The hotel is not in the city centre, but close to the airport, 5-7 minutes by car, the reason why I chose it. The hotel looks new. The room is small, but all necessary was in it, even a tea kettle but no tea bags. Comfortable bed, good shower. I was given a bottle of water at check in. Wifi worked very well, but to connect it is necessary to have a Russian telephone number. I did not and asked the receptionist, she used her phone number to get a code by SMS for me. Check in, check out was quick. Efficient and welcoming staff. It was a good place for a night stay before my morning flight.
The hotel was a bit far from the city center where all the interesting sites are. The staff was very helpful and let me check-in early (9 am), which was great after a long train ride. The room was not air-conditioned but clean. Wifi was pretty good. The hotel restaurant food wasn't the best but the staff was friendly even though they didn't speak one word of English. Hotel Wifi worked here as well, and thanks to google translate getting the message across was not an issue. The breakfast served here wasn't bad at all. Bottom line is the hotel room was great for the price paid and any shortcomings were made up by the friendly helpful staff.
Though not in the centre of the city this is a good place for an overnight stop. Being new, everything is bright, clean and modern, good English spoken on the desk and there is a good restaurant too. A packed breakfast was given to us for our early morning start.
Inexpensive new establishment only 120 Rouble taxi ride from railway station ( though we were charged 500 first time) within easy reach of downtown area of Irkutsk. Clean room with comfortable bed. Staff very helpful and were extremely useful in aiding uniglot restaurant staff with Russian menu. Dakar Rrestaurant with good food interrupted, as in many such establishments, by continuous high volume giant multi screen DVD accompaniment.
