We went there to ask for a transport to Olchon Island. The guy immediately told us that there's no problem and reserved two places in the next morning bus. Even we did not stay at the hostel he arranged everything very well. Same for the transport back to Irkutsk. Very friendly!!!! Thanks a lot!!!

A bit hard to find, but if you follow the instructions sent by email you will get there. Lenid is a very friendly host and willing to help you with anything such as tours, transportation or exploring Irkutsk. The beds are clean and there's free coffee and tea in the kitchen. It is a good place to crash if you're...

We only stayed for 1 night at the hostel and had arranged everything before so they new that we would arrive early in the morning with the train (around 8 a.m.). Through their collaboration with Baikal Expolorer we arranged a hiking trip at the shore of Lake Baikal at the very same day with a very friendly and enthusiastic guide...

I stayed here two nights on my way to Olkhon Island. Arrived around 10 am and was able to use my room straight away - I had been travelling for sometime and had an overnight flight from Moscow, so was delighted to be able to sleep. I had booked the double room as I wanted to be able to have...

Great location near train station, but terrible staff. Things I didn't like Staff unhelpful - one had her young son with her who was screaming at midnight despite everyone in the dorm trying to sleep. At 10.30am his mother insisted I only whisper to her as he was sleeping. Another staff member took over the kitchen for dinner with her...

My wife and I booked two nights here and certainly warmed to it after a fairly dubious start as we couldn't work out where it was due to its sign being so small and almost impossible to make out at 4 in the morning! That said, the lady working there did let us in at that time and was very...

I stayed both here and at the Nerpa Hostel and there is no comparison. In every way the Nerpa hostel far exceeded this one re: accommodations, services and staff!! The wifi, when I was there, did not work and the staff was not available for assistance.

Its a basic hostel, nothing fancy. 13 beds (6 + 7) but only one bathroom. Kitchen is pretty decent and staff very helpful. I deducted 2 stars because the location of the hostel is pretty dodgy (depending on from where you get to the hostel) and city center is a 15 min walk. Also, although we booked a 6 bed...

First big plus: they open the door in te middle of the night! Our train arrived at 2:30 a.m. And the hostel we booked (baikaler) didnt open the door. After driving through town and looking in the lonely planet we found Admiral. And the let us in! Great! Why not every hostel is like this, i still dont understand. The...

Only one toilet with shower which is definitely inconvenience when it's full house of 16 guests. The receptionist did not take care much in housekeeping & guests and did not put quiet control after midnight. Kitchen is not clean enough
