Detailed Reviews
The hotel is centrally located, partly built in a historic building - of which only the facade remains - and close to everything and in front of it there is the beautiful Cathedral of the icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir.
However, I can't say it was a remarkable experience. The rooms need some updating, the lobby is non-existent and the staff at the reception is not exactly a champion of friendliness.
On the other hand, breakfast is very inviting, varied and delicious!
All in all, if one doesn't have a lot of pretensions it's perfect for a short stay.

This is the most incompetent, arrogant, arrogant staff you have ever seen. 2ka only for maids and cooks (well, they can do something there, but apparently the lazy people at the reception don’t buy food for them) Zero career guidance, people who dropped out of the second year of the “Hospitality” faculty at a vocational school. What kind of 4 stars are there, take the crown off your head. In the forest with a tent, ticks will be more polite than here at the reception. I would have fired him to hell under the article for parasitism. And to travel agents they just want to sell it and tell them how beautiful it is. Don't be fooled, you can just stop by and sleep! But even if you are tired from the plane, you will not be checked in earlier even if the room is available. Wow, shame... and you won’t be able to renew it yourself either, because everything is done through the operator, without a royal decree you can’t go anywhere. If, of course, you receive it normally, otherwise it may turn out that the Agent accidentally went on a jeep tour to Altai to boost the economy there for your money and there is no connection. Fenita`lya, comedy, B"l`@

Deceptively big, something of a maze to navigate, and catering for the masses, this was a non-decript hotel. As my tour group undertook all transportation for my sightseeing I coud not comment on how convenient it might be for a private visit. The staff were not particularly helpful at reception, the waiting staff were young and inexperienced and rushed off their feet. It was clean and had regular changes of towels etc. My twin room looked nothing like the standard shown in this accompanying picture! Nothing absolutely bad about it but nothing attractive either.

+1
Decent hotel, delicious breakfasts, excellent staff, a sauna, excellent location for excursions. If we are in St. Petersburg again, we will definitely stay here. We took excursions on the Leningrad tour, and since the hotel has a good location, we walked a lot and visited many attractions ourselves, opposite the hotel is the Cathedral of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, a very atmospheric place.

Special thanks to her. The smart girls also cleaned every day, changed everything towels, toiletries. We recommend this hotel to everyone.

My sister and I were on vacation in St. Petersburg and stayed for five nights at the Dostoevsky Hotel. We were satisfied with everything, cleanliness, comfortable bed. Cleaning every day, white clean towels, shampoo, soap, body cream provided. The breakfasts are simply wonderful, everything is fresh and tasty. There were no such things in Turkey. The hotel is located near the metro, ten minutes walk to Nevsky Prospekt. We are planning to come to St. Petersburg again and only to the Dostoevsky Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend. Good breakfast - plenty of choice, cleaning is done every day, towels are changed upon request. The rooms, of course, already require an upgrade, but for an overnight stay a shower will do. The first time it’s difficult to navigate finding a number, then it’s even interesting 😂
Thanks to the staff and reception workers, especially Nikita for her responsiveness and smile
We'll be back next year, they promised renovation, we're waiting!

The only positives are the location of the hotel and daily cleaning.
The downside is that the room is cold, the “warm floor” makes no sense at all, we didn’t feel any difference. Breakfast is poor and almost always cold.
Terrible audibility, no noise insulation at the doors. I couldn’t sleep during the day, and in the evening too, the noise was as if heavy balls were being rolled on the floor without stopping, it turned out there was a gym upstairs... I’ll tell you straight away, it’s such a noise that earplugs don’t help. Not a rest, but a complete disappointment. I will never set foot here again, and I will never recommend it to my friends!!!

Hello! I wanted to leave a review for those who are looking for where to stay during a trip to St. Petersburg. We chose the Dostoevsky Hotel, also, before booking we read the reviews, there were some negative ones among them. But our agent told us that many people had vacationed in this hotel and they liked the hotel. We listened and decided to stick with it and didn’t regret it! We vacationed with the whole family, my husband, me and my daughter from 07/22/07/27/2023. on the seventh floor, I liked everything, starting with the convenient location, the cleaning of the rooms and the variety of breakfasts! So for those who read negative reviews about this hotel, I can write, of course, how many people have so many opinions, but do not hesitate when choosing this hotel, you will like it, you will really only come to spend the night. I recommend!!!

Breakfast is a separate issue...Tasty, varied, satisfying. The location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance! Would I come again - definitely yes! Thank you!
