We stayed as a family of four (2 adults 2 kids 12&14yrs) for 3 nights in a room which was called a junior suite. It was nice , comfortable and clean. Bathroom small but functional enough. The housekeeping service was very good.
In terms of location it's right in the middle of Nevsky Prospekt. This is a very busy road so you need to have your wits about you. It puts you in good position for bars, restaurants etc. Fabergé museum is very close ... about 7mins walk for us. The closest metro is about 5 mins although longer when the streets are very busy as they certainly were for us at new year.
The breakfast service in this hotel need some work! It was busy while we were there; I think the hotel was full. There is only one coffee machine and no waiter service for coffee. So there was always a queue to get a coffee which seemed crazy to us in a hotel of this Calibre. There were also issues every day with lack of plates, bowls and glasses : just really quite weird! The staff were good at smiling but didn't seem that aware of any of these issues. On the 1st day a waiter had dropped a bowl and it had smashed and rolled under our table, there was yoghurt or something like down the table leg and broken porcelain on the floor. We had to ask for it be cleaned up and then it was only half a job and I did the rest myself : I don't know if there was a bit of a language barrier as my Russian extends to about ten words and no one in the dining room seemed to speak any English.
Lady in the gift shop very nice and also helped me with a bit of local knowledge. She speaks good English and also sells a few nice souvenirs.

Breakfast was exceptional. Yana the Duty manager was very attentive, she sent madam a complementary with a hard written note, very kind of her. The atmosphere, the location the beverages including coffee in the room.

Loved the Radison in 2019! Maybe coz it was Sonya?

Sadly a shadow of it's self now.

We were so disappointed that we wanted to cancel out 3 day stay after the 1st day, sadly our Booking.com booking didn't allow us. So we were FORCED to stay.

A 5 star where reception doesn't answer call and you are forced to sleep in a hot room as no one is on call to help you set up a the room temperature? The icemaker is out of order, forced to take warm whisky as I couldn't order for ice, reception didn't pick my calls.

My wife received a complementary after someone opened the door offering tea/coffee, when she had just come out of the shower.

Breakfasts are certainly more modest compared to some Moscow and Kazan Radisson, especially when it comes to hot dishes and snacks. But still good. The quality of the vegetables leaves room for improvement, the cook is not very friendly when preparing omelettes (apparently he’s a little lazy), which is why sometimes you don’t want to order. But in general, at breakfast there is a little bit of everything (you definitely won’t remain hungry, and it’s far from the worst quality), there are also good baked goods, freshly squeezed juice, champagne. It is located right along the Main Street which is walking distance to restaurants, both high end designers boutique shops as well as touristy souvenir shops for tourists.
Hotel room was very clean and bed was comfortable. But we find the room to be a bit too dim. Bathroom was great and bright. Nespresso was a nice touch.
Buffet breakfast have a wide variety of food to choose from... including sparkling wine and caviar.

Stayed in this hotel and was absolutely thrilled! The unique and beautiful building immediately attracts attention, and the convenient location allows easy access to all interesting places. Breakfasts here at the highest level are varied and delicious. I particularly want to acknowledge the work of Roberto's waiter, who has always been friendly and attentive. He made our stay even more comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel also pleased, the dishes were very delicious and the presentation was high. Hi,sorry,just got your message and the answer is "yes", the hotel will send a car to pick you up. Just send your request to the hotel when you make a booking and that will do. I was picked up by hotel car a few times. But please remember that it will be a few times more expensive that the regular taxi-service. There are official taxi-stands at airport if you might prefer cheaper service.
