We arrived fairly late in the night and were greeted by smiling reception staff who checked us in faster than most places can manage! Lovely room with an upgrade to a sitting room. We were there 5 nights, so it was very pleasant to have the extra room. Very well located with a good restaurant. Also tried several good restaurants within easy walking distance. We felt very safe walking in the immediate area of the hotel.

Many hotels and resorts around the world claim to be a 5 star location. However, only a few are truly entitled to bear such an award. Clearly, the RF Astoria Hotel in Piter is one of them. It doesn't make any sense to highlight one or the other detail - it's the full package that really makes you feel comfortable in a unrivaled manner during your stay. Piter is a wonderful and overwhelming city - and the RF Astoria Hotel is a perfect fit to it.
Our thanks go to the entire staff - each individual we met was a top notch professional, courteous, gentle and attentive. In this context we congratulate the management. We love Piter and we will definitely come back again. No question where we will stay. Awesome!

The ultra modern wall features in the restaurant are completely out of step with the style of the hotel. The bath is too hard to negotiate for the shower. Instructions for operating the shower are required. The wait staff in the restaurant do not understand English so your meal is always a surprise, and never what you ordered. The bedroom corridors are dingy, unattractive and unadorned - very institutional. The taxi ordered by the hotel for transport to the ballet did not have a clue about direction, and ran very late to the wrong theatre. Extremely upset patrons as the tickets were AU$300 each. Great location but I preferred Astoria's previous incarnation in 1996.

Not the first time at Astoria, normally top class, not now. 01:30 in the morning, strong noise, hammering ? Wake up, checked the corridor, what is it ? Finally calling reception being informed that there are construction works ongoing. Will however stop if to noisy ?? At a top class hotel in the middle of the night ?
Earlier in the evening, asked for extra electrical supply by the bed. “We will arrange that”. Coming to the room, nothing by the bed, tired, looking around, finally finding by the door an extension cable laid on the bench never used. Un-wrap, install and finally a en extra supply - great.

Superb accommodations with highly professional staff throughout the hotel. I’d give it 6****** if there was an option. Caviar tasting in the restaurant along with sparkling wines and vodkas is a lot of fun.
There’s a great wine shop a half a block away that also sells the vodkas used for the caviar tasting. The location overall is also superb.
Something that a lot of the other five-star hotels had missing was a vibe and energy on the main floor. The Rocco Forte Astoria had a great sense of atmosphere and energy throughout. And the chocolates are delicious – thank you Margherita :)

Astoria is a house in St. Petersburg. The northern capital has something to boast about in terms of hotels, but after visiting its five-star neighbors, I decided for myself that there is nothing better than Astoria. Depending on the type of trip, I choose either an attic room or a superior room with a view of St. Isaac's. Breakfast is wonderful, and evenings in the Rotunda with friends and partners over long and pleasant conversations, accompanied by the caring service of the hotel staff, are ideal. If our tastes coincide, then I recommend it.

Astoria is the perfect place to stay for a weekend at the city. The location is just in the middle of the routes to the must-visit spots. The hotel service is just great. Better to have a cathedral view room to enjoy St. Isaak view in the morning/ evening

The location is really good, convenient for going to Nevsky Prospekt and The Marinsky Theatre. Breakfast is good, there are leafy vegetables, very good smoked fish, etc. The service is in place, and the overall experience is perfect! Very recommended!

I’m probably too late with my answer, but the food was superior with a well done Russian influence.
I would email them and call again, I’ve found sometimes that emails can get lost/overlooked. If you’ve not been though, persevere as it’s a great place, good luck

Our Classic Queen rooms are about 25 sq m/ 269 sq f. These rooms are not very spacious, but comfortable. You do not need to use stairs, 3 lifts are available for our guests.
