The only one of its kind, Radisson Sonya Hotel is an exclusive Hotel with a special St. Petersburg charm and unique interior. It is also a hotel with a quite distinguished individual character, the main feature of which is the conceptuality of its design. Being very much impressed with one of the most famous literature masterpieces, the novel "Crime and punishment", by Fyodor Dostoevsky, the designers decided to reveal the versatility and unpredictability of human nature in the Hotel interior concept. As F. Dostoevsky is widely considered to be the greatest researcher of the infinite depths of Russian soul, the spiritual metamorphosis of a human soul becomes the concept basis. A remarkable detail in this case is the character of the main heroine: this poor and destitute yet fragile girl becomes a great supporter of strayed and misguided Raskolnikov. Therefore, in honor of this kind and compassionate little woman Radisson Sonya is named.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from Thursday 6th June for a week. It was a business trip but because of the weekend and a national holiday on the Wednesday, we had 3 full days to discover St Petersburg as well as every night, which is like another day itself as the sun didn’t set until 10.30 (and rose at 3.30am!). St Petersburg is truly amazing, one of the best cities we’ve visited (and we’ve travelled all around the world), from the opera, ballet, food, friendliness, cleanliness, safety, art galleries...it has everything and more but this review is about the hotel. We arrived quite late and the check in was friendly and swift. Our room was on the 4th floor (410) and was called a superior suite. It was more than adequate in size with a complimentary bowl of fruit awaiting us on arrival. Fresh water every day, tea, coffee, hot chocolate alongside a good room clean, change of towels etc. The bathroom was fine with a large walk in shower. The windows were triple glazed with a blackout curtain, lovely soft pillows & a/c ensured a perfect, peaceful night’s sleep. Prior to leaving I read a few average, even poor reviews regarding the breakfast. I can’t imagine these were for the same hotel as the breakfast, in terms of organisation, quality and huge, huge range was quite outstanding. There was really everything you could wish for. And if it wasn’t already laid out, you could ask one of the many friendly staff to prepare it fresh..from an omelette of your choice to freshly squeezed carrot juice. We used the well equipped gym most days and also made use of the steam rooms which were wonderful. Reception staff were warm, welcoming and very knowledgable (I overheard them speaking to guests in many different languages). On 2 occasions when we had tickets for the theatre, we asked (Alina) to suggest suitable restaurants nearby to the theatres, as it was early the restaurants were not open but she not only secured reservations for us later in the day, but she whatsapped us to confirm. A great hotel, a wonderful location and a perfect city for couples, business or a cultural feast. We will most definitely return.

We are truly glad that you have enjoyed your visit to St. Petrersburg and had such a memorable stay. This time of the year we have the white nights in the city, which is a really magical nature phenomenon and it's great you had a chance to see it for yourself. Stayed at this hotel recently on a business trip, in what is described as a basic room. The room was good, if small, the clue is in the description! Within the room you get the usual large comfy bed, complimentary water and WiFi, and the bathroom was compact but perfectly fine. All the staff speak perfect English (better than some UK hotels!) and the service was excellent. I visited on a Saturday and then the following Friday and was remembered. Really easy walk into the centre (15 mins) and similar into the fortress. Hotel arranged car to and from airport 2k roubles to the airport (45 mins), about twice the price of a taxi but still very reasonable. Would recommend this hotel, and pay more than the basic room if you are not alone.

This hotel is located in a beautiful area with nice restaurants and shopping close by. The room we got was a bit of a disappointment as it was too small being a corner room. We hardly had place to keep our luggage but it had a small but very comfortable bed. The bathroom had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful.

Stayed for a few nights on a tour. Room was tiny, but clean and functional. Bar good as was restaurant. Breakfast average, it wasn't obvious how to get anything other than the buffet. Staff were rude. Was refused breakfast one day as waitress said I wasn't entitled. Passport was demanded to prove I was who I said. They had ticked off my room number already, of course they never make mistakes....

Stayed here on 20/30th April 19 family of 4 in 2 bedrooms. We found the standard rooms too small. There is no place next to bed to get on n off from bed. You literally have to slide in 9” space on sides. Besides this the staff is friendly and speaks English. Location is good with a departmental store at 2 minutes walk. Breakfast is also good.
