I visited St Petersburg 17th-20th Jan.
The hotel is a short walk from some of the city's main attractions like Hermitage State Museum, Admiralty building, the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood etc.
The hotel was more than I anticipated. The staff were friendly and attentive. Prior to my arrival I was able to arrange transport to go back to the airport for a 6am flight.
The breakfast buffet each morning was superb. Everything you can imagine from bacon, eggs, meatballs, to cereals, fruit, breads and pastries, yogurts, seeds and a variety of juices, teas and coffees to fill you up. I highly recommend a visit to the freshly prepared omelette station. Beautiful.
Another huge plus was the spa facility located on below the hotel. Consisting of a large pool with jets, jacuzzis, plunge pools and a variety of heat and ice rooms it was a welcomed visit each evening after a day of exploring the city. So nice to be able to relax in the pool or saunas/steam rooms or cool off in the snow room (yes really!!). And it stays open until 23:00
Another experience not to miss is the Dans Le Noir restaurant. A surreal experience of eating in pitch black not knowing what you are eating (you find out afterwards). Amazing food and an experience not to miss.
I was located on the 4th floor and whilst there, there were maintenance works taking place in some rooms although the disruption to guests was minimal and stopped before early evening.
Lastly, on checking out (at 2.30am) to meet my transport to take me to the airport, the hotel had arranged for a takeaway breakfast as I would not be available for the breakfast buffet. A wonderful touch which I really appreciated. It's those little things that makes the stay so worthwhile. Thank you for a wonderful weekend, if I ever get the pleasure of returning to St Petersburg, I'll be booking my stay with you again.

I have to note the changes in the hotel are not for the better:
Breakfasts have gotten much worse. Instead of your favorite salmon, they serve absolutely tasteless butter fish and sprats. The herring was generally spoiled, the vegetables were tasteless (the cheapest tomatoes), the assortment at breakfast was much smaller (in the photo you can see that the quality of the food leaves much to be desired: the fish had a coating on it, the tomatoes were clearly tasteless from the color, the herring was simply spoiled and tasted disgusting . Sprats will not replace the salmon for which I have always loved the breakfasts at this hotel. The watermelon and melon are unripe and not tasty).
Problems with cleaning. When we checked in, the room had gray old towels, a sticky floor and a dirty bed skirt. Also on the large bed there were 2 small mattresses - you could feel this border between them (it is possible that the bed consists of 2 small ones, but a large mattress is definitely needed).
Terrible pillows!!! These are not pillows, these are some kind of rags. Replace them immediately! It is impossible to sleep on them. After the request, they brought more or less normal ones, but what was originally there was terrible.
There is a shortage of staff in the front office. The poor reception staff are trying, but they just can't keep up. Sometimes they don’t answer calls, sometimes they forget/lose requests/wishes for accommodation.
The only good things left were the spa and the location of the hotel, to be honest. A lot of things are falling into disrepair and there is a visible lack of funding. The price no longer corresponds to the level of the hotel. Too high for such a reduced level.
By the way, the spa is open until 11 p.m., but at 10:30 p.m. the employees are already starting to turn everything off and open the doors of the bathhouses, kicking out the guests. This is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Either write a work schedule until 22.30 or conduct training with the staff that the time for preparing and cleaning the spa area is not included during work. Just as a restaurant opens for breakfast when breakfast should be ready, spa guests should not see the staff wanting to go home and such behavior is unacceptable!
By the way, our room had a view of the trash heap. We tried not to look out the window 🤦🏻♀️

The spa really sells this place - lots of different sauna and steams room and pool with jets to relax in after a day pounding the streets of st Petersburg. we spent the extra on a suite - as we were travelling with a teenager and the extra space was really worth it. Excellent Buffet to set you up for the day. Clean, quiet, fairly newish decor in rooms. the lobby is modern and has good roaring fire to lounge in front of. It is a little further out than other options but then you get more space and the pool/ spa.

The most HORRIBLE hotel I have ever stayed. That is NOT 5 star hotel at all: the rooms are small and dirty, on all floors there is a smell like in a hospital and the worst thing is the service: their staff knows absolutely no norms of respect for customers. I had to make a complaint to the general director of the hotel (Mr. Dmitry Shubin) because the reception worker (Timofey Kostenkof) started yelling at me because I made a comment on the guest's service standards and I thought that this employee should dismiss at least but to my disappointment, NOTHING was done in relation to him. Also, no apology was given by either the hotel or the management for this incident. Absolutely HORRIBLE hotel, their service and food.

Dear Andrey, First of all, I would like to thank you for choosing Solo Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge for your stay in Saint Petersburg. I'm terribly sorry, you didn't enjoy our rooms, which are quite spacious (room area started from 28 m2) and design of the hotel, which was made by Finnish Design Group exclusively for our hotel. As I know the situation with your dog, or security shift leader Timofey kindly asked you to put a muzzle on your dog, because it could scare some of our guests. I'm terribly sorry if any of his words seemed rude for your. Hope, you could give us one more chance to feel you wonderful in our hotel. Best regards, Aleksandra Guest relations manager

One of the worst experiences I’ve had staying in 5 star hotels. The hotel requires renovation. It looks neglected and outdated. The service quality is rather poor to say the least (but it’s subjective experience). Breakfast was abysmal. The cheapest food, the variety is poor, generally tasted badly. One good thing is a spa, but no one warned us that the facility is used not only by guests but also by people from the street who can buy a pass. Due to that reason it is always overcrowded.

I stayed at this location for 3 nights ! Its well located in the quite part of the city center . Close pretty much to everything . Rooms are nice and spacious , in a yacht kind of style . In room dining was very good . Bar serves good drinks but they close service at 23 . The lobby space is small , and there is a huge cue to breakfast . This hotel gets high marks due to a very very nice gym and spa ! This is where this hotel stands out from everyone else ! Lots of guests and everyone doing the spa so keep that in mind. Some things can be improved like renewal of some interior articles and perhaps a touch of fresh paint here and there ! Otherwise very good !

Relaxed at the hotel on 23.11.24. Booking was via internet, room standard 2x seat accommodation. I arrived earlier than the main guest, at about 4 p.m. , I was checked in, a copy of my passport was taken and the key to room 240 was issued. Next to the elevator room in the spa , the rooms are small , the furniture is old , but everything is necessary. The friend arrived 20 minutes later and was also registered and given a second key. In the spa very many people, hammam and baths were beat, there were no free sunbeds. We found a couple of empty chairs and we set up on them, the bar was selling alcohol, so we decided that drinking was allowed here and we took two paper glasses of wine from the room. While my friend was in the bathhouse, a bald man in a sloppy suit and dirty street shoes approached me (it's in the spa area, where barefoot walks including children ) . He said you can't drink your wine, but if we pay him 5000 tons, we can continue to rest. After refusing to pay his cork fee, he started rudely insulting me and shouting at us to get out of the spa, to which he got a response in his style and obviously offended. We didn't argue for long, of course, and we went up to the room, and he called the Russian Guard and I was taken out of the hotel, for insulting this man's personality ) half an hour later I came back and again he came and said that at the hotel I was not registered and had to leave. We asked to invite the hotel manager to the reception to explain everything to him, he refused, but came back again with a friend Anatoly and the Russian Guard, woke the whole second floor, proving that I have no hotel registration. Eventually I had to leave the hotel accompanied by the Russian Guard, good thing I live not far away. Foreign guests will have to find another hotel .

We stayed at the end of December for five nights with the family in this hotel. It was a very good choice! At arrival the friendly and fluently English speaking reception desk staff offered us a fantastic upgrade (Suite with living room, kitchen and jacuzzi instead of standard room) to create more space and comfort for the five of us. And this for only a small extra charge. We highly appreciated this warm welcome and the comfort was beyond expectations. In fact we had a fully equipped apartment in the middle of St. Petersburg...
The breakfast is at high level with plenty of choice. Even a glass of champagne is served. We also had a dinner at the hotel's Sevilla restaurant. Good food, although relatively expensive compared to the price levels of comparable restaurants in the city centre.
The hotel created an amazing Christmas atmosphere which we really enjoyed.
The swimming pool and sauna's are at high level as well. I think it's the biggest indoor hotel pool I ever visited. There is also a huge gym, so after an intensive day in the city these leisure options are very welome! All in all I can fully recommend the Solo Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge if you want stay luxury, central but quiet!

I liked everything! The staff is hospitable, the room is clean, quiet, the spa area is good, the breakfast is excellent. Bathrobes, slippers, dental kit, gel, shampoo, body cream, tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar. Towels and sheets in the spa are provided separately, you don’t need to take them from your room, there are safes in the spa for valuables, you need to take rubber slippers with you to move around the spa.

A lovely hotel within close walking distance to most tourist spots and shops. The staff are very friendly and the room was very good, with all the amenities you need. The spa and pool got quite busy around 5pm, so would chose a different time to visit it if you want a little piece. The food is over priced, but would recommend the ice cream from the stand near the bar downstairs.
