The Arbat Hotel is close to Arbat Street and its attractions but located on a quiet side street. The room was comfortable and cleaned well each day. I was there in March when the hotel didn't seem very busy. Definitely would recommend it.

We stayed at the Arbat hotel during our second part of the journey. It is a good hotel with clean rooms, courteous staff and a good breakfast spread. Walking distance from all the fun in Arbat area. Their concierge services are on good and the hotel has an old world charm to it.

Have stayed here 3 times the first dating back to 1989 and plan to return again. Love the old world charm of the Arbat. Great location and close to all major attractions either by foot or metro to go anywhere in Moscow. Must have one of the best breakfasts, evrything to choose from. The club and tuna sandwiches for lunch are perfect. Alas, the evening dining has some problems, limited wine selection with no white wine and only 2 red wines to select from over the 9 nights we stayed. Many food items were also not available but no criticism of the waiting staff who did their best to accommodate the best they could. I'm sure this will be rectified as soon as possible. As stated, despite the shortcomings the pros far out weigh the shortcomings. The house team, reception, bar and generally the waiting staff are friendly and most helpful. I was recognised and cheerfully greeted by a bar staff member after a 2 year return. My wife and I have a fond connection with the Arbat.

So close to the lively cacophony of Arbat St, you nonetheless awaken to birdsong in this quiet road. When you get a 3 room, 2 bathroom suite for 150 euros a night you know you're on to a good thing. Bedding a little hard perhaps for some though I've known worse; furniture new, good modern bathrooms, safe for valuables, free toiletries, 2 TVs in the suite etc. Most staff are cheerful including the chamber maids and all are helpful. The WiFi in the rooms is strong. Breakfast good and varied - from pickled herring, salmon rolls, toast and pancakes to cheese, cereal, kefir, porridge, yoghourt etc. - and served till 11am (hurray!), though the staff are a little oversolicitous in whipping the plates away from under your nose. Guard at the entrance. Close to the metro (once you've found it), restaurants and easy access to all sites. Overall impression : lots of space, peace and quiet, clean, no crowds or noisy tourist groups, good service and comfort. A hotel where you're happy to stay inside and enjoy it for an afternoon. Will return and recommend it to all visitors to Moscow.

We stayed 2 nights at Arbat hotel. The room was called "Poluljux" which meant 2 rooms and 2 beds. Quiet, friendly hotel just 2 steps from Smolensky metro station and Old Arbat walking street. Good service, tasty breakfast, geat feeling of safety as a police station was located nearby. Red Square at walking distance. Airport transfer only 2000 RUR. The hotel is small, but satisfactory.
