The Bentley Hotel is situated in a historical 200 year-old building that has been completely renovated and restored in 2008. Staying at the Bentley Hotel is like touching a story of Napoleonic times. Built in the 1750's and after being almost destroyed during the tragic fire in Moscow in 1812, the building was ordered to be rebuilt according to the new "Urban Project" of Empress Catherine II. After the Red Revolution in 1917, the building was used as a hotel for government officials. In later Soviet times, the building housed a famous "Fisherman" shop and was the headquarters of the local area "housing office". With the renovation and opening of Bentley Hotel, the historical heritage of this building continues as a place of hospitality.

Basmanny is Moscow’s most artsy neighborhood, containing the highest amount of galleries and cultural spots per square meter in the city. Spend the whole day discovering Russian contemporary art at Winzavod and design at Artplay before moving from the industrial scenery to the Chistye ponds for a calming dinner.

Usually I am a difficult person and I tend to look into very quiet and clean hotels. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in Dec 2018. The location is great and very close from restaurants of all kinds, supermarkets. Its also close to tram and bus (5min) and within 10 min walk to 3 different metro stations. i stayed in a single bed room and although the room was small it felt very cosy, clean and tidy. The housekeeping was doing a great job. And I have to say it was very quiet room (after I unplugged the fridge). The staff in the reception very helpful. The only drawback in this hotel is the breakfast. Although the portions are ok its not tasty and not cooked well. The could have served a bit more bread and the omelette is bad. You can skip breakfast and enjoy bakeries and cafes in 5 min walk distance. But if I ever go back to Moscow I would like to stay there again.

Basic hotel in the Moscow centrum. 2 km to Red square. Excellent choice for me, as the hotel is very close to the out Office. The breakfast in the diner is not the best one (three choices to choose), but will do. The Pokrovka street has been slightly renovated since my last visit, and there are good restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby.

I spent two nights during a Business Trip to Moscow. The entrance is quite secluded and it stands on the left side of the building. As soon as you open the door there are some stairs: this is not ideal of course if you are carrying a heavy luggage but if you are lucky there's a young chap that is willing to give you a hand. At the reception out of 2 ladies (they usually are on different shifts) only one could speak English - she was actually quite friendly though. The hotels has few rooms all located on the same floor. I had a single room with a single bed and the room was ok in size, but not massively large. As I am used to a queen size bed, I find it odd sleeping on a single bed. For the shower: it takes about 5 mins before the water gets actually hot. On the second floor there's an american diner: the burgers are not bad but I would suggest to go and explore other restaurants in the area, especially if you are looking for something typically Russian. The location thought is very good as it is close to the tube and only a 20 mins walk from the Kremlin.

The reception staff is friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, about 2 km from the very centre of Moscow. Dinner (grill burger) was tasty, breakfast likewise. Towels arechanged daily, the bed is comfortable. BUT. The hotel itself is getting run down: carpet really needs cleaning, the clock on the wall needs new batteries, the plumbing is leaking, toilet seat needs fixing, restaurant staff needs to get to work on time, the wifi is weak and keeps crashing down, etc. Not quite value for the money.

It was disgusting, boring a hole in my head mechanical noise, which woke me up at 5 am and continued without stopping all days and nights we stayed at the hotel. “It’s our ventilation system noise.” – explained me administrator – “and we can do nothing with it. It must work as it is.” The solution was using earplugs in the coming two nights. But you know, if anybody told me I’ll have to sleep this way in this rather expensive hotel, I’d never book it! In addition, the toilet drain worked hard & bad, the water pressure in the shower was extremely weak and the shower handle was “hard coded” in the wall – not removable or permitting height or corner change. Very uncomfortable! Poor & not tasty breakfast. Weak, interrupted Wi-Fi. Unreliable TV (weak signal). Standard Twin Room is small and narrow, but beds are comfortable (to my mind). Summarizing I can tell that even the ventilation system noise is sufficient to destroy all the possible advantages of the hotel and sure I don’t recommend it at all!
