#2 of 41 B&Bs / Inns in Gura Humorului
Born out of respect and admiration for Bucovina’s tradition, art and architecture, only 500 m away from downtown Gura Humorului, La Roata is like a miniature of a village museum: five cottages (Vasile, Anastasia, Elisabeta, Zenovia and Dumitru) from the beginning of the 19th century, brought and rebuilt wood by wood and piece by piece on the property, will take you, Dear Guest, on a journey in time, during childhood spent with your grandparents. Every object, every corner of the cottages tell a story, so they have been kept authentic in order for the Traveler to (re)live a piece of the life half a century ago. In terms of comfort, the cottages have central heating, a bathroom, TV, wi-fi connection. At La Roata one can also find 4 modern houses (16 double and twin rooms and 4 apartments). Each room has a bathroom, a mini-fridge, cable Tv, central heating. Within the complex, wi-fi connection, parking and bike rental are free. With us time passes differently! Come and experience that!

We booked the Anastasia house as we wanted to stay in an old and authentic house. The house is really well restored and preserved. The house is clean and doesn't smell of any mold ( been in rustic houses where the smell was just hitting you when you opened the door). The bathroom has a pretty decent size and you can see it has been properly set up to accommodate for the modern times. There is always hot water and proper pressure in the shower. If you know your traditional Romanian styles you can notice not everything used for decor is from Bucovina and the house does make a bit of noise, especially the bedroom doors but then again those are just details. The place is very clean, the ladies taking care of the place have changed the towels and bed sheets after 3 days of us staying in the house and each day they have collected the trash and put new bags for the bins. The breakfast is quite varied and the ladies working there do bring new food every time something is finished. What I did not like was when I saw the boiled eggs were 3 RO which means they are the cheapest ones on the market and from eggs kept in contained cages. From a property which is surrounded by eggs and you can hear them every time I would have expected a better choice and more quality. There are free bicycles on the property, two rocking chairs and a small observatory with a bit of hey both overlooking the city and the forest. The property is quiet and in the evening is very nice to stay out and look over to the forest and the skiing resort. Overall we were very satisfied with the location, cleanliness and house we stayed in. I would recommend management to think about offering more quality food. One of the ladies from management was not very friendly and even when serving in the morning breakfast her behavior felt cold. I would put that to the current COVID situation and the other lady from management ( blonde one, sorry didn't remember the name) was very welcoming and kind compared to her colleague.

We've been surprised how beautiful it is this place, how well taken care of it, the personal was very nice and kind. The breakfast was good and varied, they have milk, yogurt, bio cereals, home made butter and so on, all very good. The place is clean and cosy. We were accommodated in Nela, a modern house with a traditional twist but very nice. The person who received us was very nice and showed us a traditional house and we were amazed how nice it was reconditioned. They have a place were the kids can play with slide, swing, jumping mattress and others. Here it's something that I recommend to be more taking care because it's not so well careful. We felt very well here and we intend to come back again. Tourist attractions: 10 min Voroneț Monastery, 1h Pietrele Doamnei Mountains, etc. You receive all the tips and tricks of what you can do in the area at the reception.

If you want to live a true Romanian experience and live in a traditional house you need to get here. The location offers 5 different traditional Romanian houses, but also modern rooms in 4 different other houses. The garden is perfect for walks and admiring the beautiful landscape. The people working here are very friendly and the breakfast is incredible good. Recommend it from my heart, can't wait to go back
