Enjoyed two nights here . Well located for visits to the painted monasteries with incredible frescoes of Voronet, Putna etc. Very friendly hotel with excellent staff. Rooms large , clean and have wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Local delicious Romanian food well presented. Buffet style breakfast was good.
We stayed here for 2 nights during our trip to see the painted monasteries. Our room was in Building B on the 2nd floor. It had a large bed, chair and a nice size bathroom. We also had a balcony with a lovely view. Location is great. The property has a terrace where we ate both nights because the weather was so nice. Staff were friendly and the food good. There was also a Siamese small cat that would politely meow for some tidbits of food. What more could you want? Watch for the road leading up the hill right by the green Mol gas station. There is a sign but hard to see. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
The most tasty food in Bucovina! Many thanks for Razvan our waiter .Hope to return soon, everything was very nice here, good food and nice kid corner available. Thank you and Happy birthday George (Japanu)
This is fairly basic hotel, perhaps 3 star, but guests should find it perfectly suitable as long as there is no expectation of upscale services such as luggage handling, valet parking, concierge service, etc. The hotel seems to be in two buildings and we were in what appeared to be the newer building located up the hill from reception and the breakfast room. Our balcony room, while not spacious or the most modern, was certainly adequate and offered a nice view. Like most of what we saw on the property, it was very clean and well maintained. In a nod toward some luxury the room had a stocked mini-fridge, and provided slippers and bathrobes. The building didn't seem to have a lift nor did the room have air conditioning, which could be an issue during hot weather. Casa Humor is located on semi-rural property, perhaps a ten minute walk from the heart of Gura Humorului. During our stay in late May it didn't seem busy; instead it was very peaceful and quiet. In high season perhaps things get noisier and more crowded, as the property is family friendly with outdoor play equipment and other things for children to enjoy. You could walk or drive to a restaurant for your evening meal, but there is probably no need to because we found the on-site restaurant to be quite good and not expensive. The dinner menu offered several traditional Romanian dishes along with other more international choices, and the wine and beer selection was fairly extensive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful in making meal choices. Weather permitting, plan to have dinner on the semi-sheltered outdoor terrace. Breakfast was included with our room rate (not sure this is always the arrangement), and was served (not buffet) in the breakfast room, again by a very friendly staff, and had lots of offerings including cooked-to-order eggs and very good coffee selections. I am an early riser who likes coffee first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, when we were there the restaurant didn't open for breakfast or coffee until 8 A.M. As a suggestion, earlier coffee/tea service, perhaps in the lobby or other public area, would be appreciated by some guests.…
This hotel is located in the countryside and as such it is quite isolated. Nevertheless it was very pleasant, foe a couple of nights. The hotel is spread out up the side of a small hill - but the climb is not so bad. The rooms are functional and basic but adequate. The .food in the hotel is traditional and fine - there is a good local wine list. The staff were very helpful, especially the head waiter and English was not a problem.
