All rooms are furnished in an elegant, modern style and offer panoramic views of the Ciomad Mountain. Each of the spacious rooms at Grand Hotel Balvanyos comes with a mini-bar, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and free wired internet access. Free WiFi is available in the public areas. Nestled among natural springs and secular fir trees, the hotel's Grand Santerra Spa stretches on over 2,000 square yards and features 7 swimming pools, 3 saunas, a steam bath and a salt room. The hotel was very nice, super breakfast and also very good restaurants: Gastrolab and Fork! Accomodation: we were in the tiny house this weekend, very nice house, the only thing we didn't understand why there was a kitchen with electric stove, but nothing to cook into, not even a kettle. Ah, and in the closet there was a bar for hangers, but no hangers, you need to bring them from home. Spa: we went in the spa after 8:00 pm for relaxation, especially because between 8-10:00 pm it's adults only, but there were also disturbing children in the relaxation zone and the staff didn't react when we asked the parents of the children to clear the spa area.

The telephone service of the hotel is terrible, I have been calling for three days, no pick up, waiting on line every time for like 30 minutes. Emails to the Reception is the same, no one seems to check them. The phone service and emails are the face of the business.

Its our 4th vacation here. We love the spa (they have multiple saunas, indoor and outdoor pools, fabulous massages, even a snow shower), the view is great (the hotel is surrounded by the mountains and forest), the rooms look great. We return every year to enjoy the best spa experience in Romania.

Great experience! We loved the Spa area and the Spa treatments (some of the best we’ve had). Breakfast is nice, the view from the restaurant in the morning is awsome. The restaurant/ bar at the resort entrance (not the one in the hotel) was just great for us, food was good, atmosphere was nice, and the fresh bread in the evening was a treat. Room ok, bed 8/10. I think customer service at check in and check out can be improoved. Also they can give more attention to parking places and alleys during winter an clean them /dry them better. I must say that the overall stay is a little bit pricy, but I think it’s well deserved. Good food, good wine, great spa treatments, nice rooms, great experience.

One of the best experience! The night I returned from this place I booked again for all my family because I want them to have the same experience as me and my husband had ! Very clean place , nice rooms (European size ),excellent staff ( everyone we engage, from the reception, restaurant waitresses ,the cleaning lady), the ambiance in the hotel ,the atmosphere at the spa very nice !!! We felt very cozy there ! There are strange reviews about this place and it’s sad to me to see what the people complain about like “old stuff in the hotel “ . But this hotel was functioning during communist times ! Keeping some old elements in it is nice !!!! I start traveling in1995 . Since then I travel internationally 3 to 7 times every year and I stayed in many hotels in Europe,Asia,USA,Mexico ! I know what I am talking about ! It was great! Starting with the location, the staff, all is clean and warm. I haven't got time to use all services, because I stayed for just a while, but that time was great. The staff was great, I'll emphasize this. Food was great. Breakfast was similar to, if not greater than, an all-inclusive one I was used from Bulgarian seaside hotels in the summer ( this is what I can compare with) I would definetely come back again here, maybe with mu kids, too, to try the pools, visit again the surroundings etc

Someone from the management of the location decided on my money and my confort where I should stay during my vacation there. Even if I paid with one month before for a Vila Panorama room with terrace and view, when we arrived, at the checkin, we were told there are some problems with what we’ve booked and we received a standard room with no view and no terrace. I asked for these facilities as I wanted them but I was told they are fully booked. Also they said i will received a discount and the discount was in fact the difference paid for the innitial room. I also went during my stay there to see if indeed there were issues witj that villa, however the parking was full and a lot of clients were accomodated there. I decided not to let this trouble my vacantion and enjoy my stay focusing on the positive aspects, however I was very dissapointed on the way they treat this.
